Here’s one.
Whilst this track listing is fan-generated and completely unconfirmed, @LondellMcMillan and @CharlesFSpicer should be doing everything possible to get @prince onto the GTA VI soundtrack.
GTA VI will be one of the biggest entertainment releases of the decade. Millions of people, from Gen Z upwards, will spend hundreds of hours living inside that world, driving around with its radio stations playing in the background.
Imagine millions of younger listeners hearing Erotic City, Controversy, D.M.S.R., Lady Cab Driver, Computer Blue or Housequake for the first time because it comes blasting out of a GTA VI radio station.
That is how catalogue artists find new generations. Put the music where the audience already is.
Prince doesn’t need another greatest-hits playlist aimed at people who already love Prince. His music needs cultural moments that make a 20-year-old stop and ask:
“Who the hell is THIS?”
