Testing out some of the mobile offline local knowledge apps that people have been trying to build

Definitely getting much better than the one I tried to build myself 2 months ago. But also still much slower and less effective at difficult questions than the models that can run on a laptop.
It's weakest at specialized travel-related queries (eg. my eval is "Tell me the best vegan restaurants in [city I am currently in]", unfortunately none of these performed well on that)
Looking forward to seeing these continue to improve! I hope we can soon get to the point where you can comfortably look up any facts about the world that you care about without needing to access the internet at all.

Got the OpenPGP certification demo working end-to-end π
Starting from Thurin Labsβ published public key, I generate a QR containing the actual OpenPGP key + User ID + self-certification packets.
The device independently parses the OpenPGP object, verifies the UID self-cert, derives the fingerprint itself, shows it on the trusted display, requires physical approval + a local PIN, and signs with the removable NeoPGP card.
The resulting standard OpenPGP certification packet comes back over QR, and stock GnuPG verifies it:
gpg: 5 good signatures
This is the architecture Iβm exploring toward Keycard Shell as a general-purpose trusted cryptographic interface: not just signing a host-provided hash, but letting the trusted device understand the protocol object and show the human what theyβre actually authorizing.

No @HawleyMO ....it's not about the "farmers". It's about the banks. Perpetual interest on the debt these farmers have to pay to the banks is really what's killing farmers.
Oh...that and suicide. Maybe with some decentralized lending protocols, or having a framing that helps banks understand the rules of the road, we can get farmers their loans at a much more reasonable rate...but we're killing that from happening every time the football gets rugged like a Charlie Brown cartoon.

Itβs easy to point fingers at Democrats for blocking the bill, but in its current form, there were legitimate reasons to object to it.
Some of us repeatedly warned that Trump was damaging the industry with his crypto scams, while much of crypto stayed silent, or worse, made excuses for it.
This lack of self-awareness is real problem...

Trump has literally operated some of the largest scams in the history of crypto. If you think this isnβt going to come back and bite the industry, youβre not thinking this through.
All the crypto bros who blindly cheerleaded for him and blacklisted anyone warning that he was a con man who could do more harm than good should at least admit they were wrong so we can move forward.
Trump is a con man, he conned crypto holders and he conned America. Stop being apologetic and just call it for what it is.

Nothing can shut down open source. But you can shut down the people who write it.
Roman Storm(me) was convicted over a protocol he doesn't control and transactions he never touched. The jury deadlocked on the two serious counts. DOJ is retrying him anyway, in 2027, four years after the indictment.
Michael Lewellen (@LewellenMichael) tried to do it the right way. Before publishing a non-custodial crowdfunding protocol, he asked a federal court whether writing that code made him an unlicensed money transmitter. In March a judge threw the case out, not on the merits, but because Lewellen hadn't shown a "credible threat of prosecution." DOJ was prosecuting another developer for that exact conduct at the time.
So you can't ask permission. You can only find out at sentencing.
The result is visible: shelved projects, teams moving offshore, protocols blocking U.S. users. Repos don't go to prison. Maintainers do.
