I spent 8 hours reading “I Will Teach You To Be Rich” by @ramit Most people think it’s a book about budgeting. It isn’t. It’s a blueprint for making money effortless. Here are 20 ideas that can literally change your financial future: 🧵

Levels of wealth: $10K → “I can handle emergencies.” $30K → “I can cover my basic needs.” $100K → “I can start investing seriously.” $1M → “I can survive without a salary.” $4M → “I can retire comfortably.” $20M → “I can live like the top 1%.” $100M → “I can buy almost anything I want.” The goal isn’t infinite money. It’s reaching the level where money stops controlling your decisions.

I like @ramit Sethi’s approach: “Spend extravagantly on the things you love… cut costs mercilessly on the things you don’t.” Much better than feeling guilty about every coffee. Spend ₹10,000 on the hobby you genuinely love. Cancel the 7 subscriptions you forgot you had.

Ben Graham gave Warren Buffett one of the best money lines: “Price is what you pay; value is what you get.” ₹6,000 shoes worn 300 times can be cheaper than ₹2,000 shoes worn twice. Cheap and good value are not the same thing.

AI can write the email. Build the presentation. Summarise the report. Give you 20 ideas. It still can’t decide which problem is actually worth solving. That part is still yours.

50% OFF is a fascinating offer. You spend 100% on something you weren’t going to buy… and somehow feel like you made money.

AI made average output very cheap. Taste just became more valuable. The advantage won’t only be knowing how to create more. It’ll be knowing what is not worth investing your time and money on.

You can be brilliant at your job and still become difficult to promote. If every interaction with you feels exhausting, eventually people start choosing the 8/10 person who brings 2/10 drama. That matters more than people admit.

10 timeless life lessons from Elon Musk: 1. If you do something like read a lot of books and talk to a lot of people, you can learn almost anything. 2. Criticize the action, not the person. We all make mistakes. 3. It's OK to be wrong. Just don't be confident and wrong. 4. When hiring, look for people with the right attitude. Skills can be taught. Attitude changes require a brain transplant. 5. Don’t aspire to glory; aspire to work. 6. Failure is irrelevant unless it is catastrophic. 7. Never ask your troops to do something you're not willing to do. 8. The measure of success in my life is: “How many useful things can I get done?” 9. Physics is law. Everything else is a recommendation. I've met many people who can break the laws of man, but I have never met anyone who could break the laws of physics. 10. When something is important enough, you do it even if the odds are not in your favor.

New iPhone season is basically when Indians suddenly remember every cousin living abroad.😅 iPhone Duo 256GB: India → ₹2,99,900 US → ~₹1.91L* UAE → ~₹2.21L Japan → ~₹2.26L Singapore → ~₹2.33L So yes, having someone bring it from abroad can potentially save you ₹60K–₹1L+. But I’d still ask myself one slightly painful question: Could I buy 3 of these in cash today and still be financially fine? If the answer is no, maybe the current iPhone has another year left in it.💪 Same logic for the iPhone 18 / Pro / Pro Max. Enjoy your money. Just don’t turn a yearly phone launch into a yearly financial obligation.

Social media has created a strange problem: Everyone knows what everyone else is achieving. Nobody knows what everyone else is struggling with.

One uncomfortable career lesson: Being good at your job and being recognised for your job are two different games. Learn both.

A lot of people think career growth means doing more work. Sometimes it means becoming the person everyone trusts when things go wrong.

The hardest part about delayed gratification is that the reward you want is invisible. The distraction in front of you is right there. Your future is asking you to trust something you cannot see yet.
Brutal Truth: The reason most people fail is that they give up what they want most for what they want now.

The older I get, the more I realise focus is mostly saying no. Not doing more. Protecting the few things that actually matter.
I’m 46. Trust me on this: Success comes down to distraction subtraction. To do great things, we must do fewer things.

A Marwadi grandfather pays ₹7,000 a year to insure 18 family members for ₹1 crore. You pay ₹40,000 for one family and still fight for every claim. He approves his own claim. Nobody outside his community knows this structure 👇🏻

Jeff Bezos said most of our regrets come from the things we didn’t try. I think money should help reduce those regrets too. Save. Invest. Build the safety net. But occasionally use the money to take the trip, learn the thing, start the side project, or take the chance. A huge bank balance isn’t much use if fear still makes every decision for you.
