If EF is part of the repo, I like to have the CI/CD build generate an EF migration bundle. It's a self contained exe you can point to your db server to run the migration. This way you're automating the deploy to run the same against each environment.

I feel like using Cake or Nuke with C# gets you most of the way there. I never understood why those aren't more popular among devs.

Have you spent any time using Pulumi? In my opinion it's way ahead of other IaC tools. Creating some cloud resources with C# inside Visual Studio feels way better than everything else in the market.

The only good reason I've ever seen is if you worry about egress cost. If your backend is hosted in one cloud provider and the bucket is somewhere else. This way you don't have to worry about paying to move large files from your backend out to the other provider.

Continued my tradition of carving programming stuff into my Halloween pumpkin. This year it's the Pulumi Pulumipus. I think it turned out...as good as I can make it.
