In the years before WW2 many Jews saw what was on the horizon and tried to escape the wrath of the Nazis. They were refused entry to almost every country they tried to flee to with “Go back to where you came from!” ringing in their ears as they were turned away. For most of them it was a death sentence. Following WW2 Jews who survived the camps found that liberation from the Holocaust still didn’t open borders. For several years after 1945, large numbers of Jewish survivors remained in “displaced persons camps” (that’s right, they were freed from one camp to be placed in another) because the countries they wanted to enter still considered them to be “undesirables” and restricted them, and because returning home was still unsafe. So, they did as they were told and “went back to where they came from”, to Israel, to the ancient homeland they’re indigenous to and had been driven out of millennia ago. With hard work and perseverance they turned largely inhabitable marshland into a fertile oasis. I don’t know if they ever thought they’d be left alone to live a peaceful life free from persecution, but if they did it was short lived. Demands to “Go back to where you came from!” were soon being hurled their way again, this time from Islamofascists, a group of Muslim extremists who will never accept Jews as their neighbours, let alone allow the existence of a single Jew on the planet. And so the Jews perpetual battle to simply exist continued. Today, when you ask a person who shouts “Free Palestine!” and who insists all Israelis (by which they mean Jews because of the 10 million people living in Israel, 7.8 million are Jews and the rest are Arabs: Muslims, Christians and Druze) must leave Israel to achieve this, “Where should the 7.8 million Jews currently living in Israel go?” they respond with “They must go back to where they came from!” 🤦🏼‍♀️ I think the only thing to conclude from all of this is that the Jews really have no option but to stand and fight for their right to exist from Israel. They have no other place in the world to find true, lasting sanctuary because wherever they’ve settled outside of Israel they’re eventually told to “Go back to where you came from!” and then abused, attacked, driven out and killed. To my mind, “Go back to where you came from!” might as well be, “Lay down and die!”

This is the exact diagnosis and story for friends of ours 20 years ago. It was their first pregnancy. He was training to be a missionary pilot. At her 19-week ultrasound they got this diagnosis. Even the Christian doctors and the Catholic hospital told them the condition was “incompatible with life” and offered an abortion. Repeatedly. The couple refused. For half her pregnancy my friend would have encounters in the grocery store or when new people visited the church, all of them congratulating her on the baby and asking if they were excited, had they done the nursery, were they ready? Over and over she would smile and say no, no, and no. They would just love their little girl as long as they could, but she probably would not live even for an hour after birth. Their little girl passed away at 35 weeks. I’ve never seen a celebration of human dignity like I did at the memorial for little Sarah Grace. I’ve never learned more about the imago dei than from my young friends’ refusal to hasten their child’s death, even though in some ways, it would have relieved their own suffering. “God makes life. God takes life,” they would say. My first lesson in bioethics didn't come from a book or a lecture. It came from a couple in their early 20s who were willing to do the hardest thing on behalf of the most helpless.

When referencing Muslim thuggery in France, the French media refers to them as "Les Jeunes." The youth. But the youth are not Vietnamese youth; they are not Japanese youth; they are not Hasidic Jews youth. They are Muslims but it is mean and Islamophobic to call them by their actual identity. In Britain, the Pakistani child rapists are called "Asian men." Now the mayhem in France is apparently not due to Muslim youth but to "high school protesters." ANYTHING is better than to be accused of Islamophobia. Give up your children, your women, your heritage, your society, your religion, your culture, your civilization but don't you dare be Islamophobic.

Because in righteousness he judges and wages war? (Rev. 19) Or maybe because he throws the wicked into the bloody wine press of the wrath of God? (Rev. 14) Sit down. Jesus is not your buddy. He is your Lord whether you recognize it or not and he is coming with a sword.

There is no coherent Christian argument that the death penalty is immoral. God prescribes it for a whole host of crimes in the Old Testament. So if your position is that it is fundamentally evil to execute someone, then you must be saying either that the Old Testament is not the word of God, or that God was morally confused, or that the inherent morality of the action has changed, rendering vast swaths of Scripture irrelevant. None of those positions are compatible with Christianity. I understand that some Christians try to get around this by claiming that the death penalty was "necessary" a long time ago but isn't necessary anymore. I'm afraid this argument doesn't remotely work. The death penalty is very explicitly prescribed as a matter of JUSTICE in the Bible, not out of "necessity." So, again, either the Bible is just flatly wrong, or God was flatly wrong, or the inherent essence of morality and justice has changed. Basic Christian theology does not leave any of those options open to you.

Lydia and Timothy were twins born in 2022. But they are already 34 years old. The twins and their 3 siblings were conceived in an IVF lab in 1992. They were frozen for 30 years—stored at nearly 200 degrees below zero in liquid nitrogen. In 2007, their biological parents donated them to the National Embryo Donation Center where they were adopted by Rachel and Phillip Ridgeway. The Ridgeways requested to adopt “special cases”—the embryos that had been waiting the longest. They were given Lydia, Timothy, and their 3 siblings. When the babies were defrosted, two of them tragically died. So the Ridgeways transferred the remaining three. Only Timothy and Lydia survived. It’s a miracle these children are alive. 93% of babies created in IVF are never born—frozen, experimented on, miscarried, or destroyed. Timothy and Lydia also survived all the risks associated with IVF: ➡️ 40% increased risk of birth defects ➡️ Double the chance of stillbirth ➡️ Higher risk of childhood leukemia ➡️ Low birth weight ➡️ Higher blood pressure ➡️ Hormonal imbalances ➡️ Advanced bone age ➡️ Cardiovascular issues ➡️ Cerebral palsy ➡️ Autism spectrum disorder ➡️ Infertility Every baby conceived through IVF is a gift to be loved & cherished. But no baby should be subjected to it. Protect children. Ban IVF now. Source: Bridget Sielicki/@LiveActionNews

A beautiful post
How can you NOT believe in God when octopuses dream and otters have a favorite rock they carry around in a little skin pocket and cows have best friends and bees are out there communicating the coordinates of flowers through dancing and they have regional dialects? Cats are purring at frequencies associated with bone healing? Forests get absolutely incinerated and respond by growing flowers? Dolphins literally invent names for themselves and yell them across the ocean? Penguins are waddling around Antarctica looking for the perfect rock to give their partner? CROWS REMEMBER YOUR FACE. THEY TELL OTHER CROWS ABOUT YOU. THEY TELL THEIR CHILDREN ABOUT YOU. YOU CAN HAVE GENERATIONAL BEEF WITH A BIRD. I NEED YOU TO UNDERSTAND THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THIS. Goats have accents. Rats laugh when you tickle them. Elephants mourn their dead. Whales make songs and then OTHER WHALES LEARN THE SONG and suddenly everybody across the ocean is singing the new song. Monarch butterflies are born knowing how to fly thousands of miles to a place they have never been. Sea turtles hatch out of an egg, immediately sprint toward an ocean that they have never seen, disappear into it for like 3 decades and then somehow come back to the same beach they hatched on. Birds can see colors that we humans can’t see. There are colors out there right now that we don’t even get to know about. There are sea slugs that eat algae and use the chloroplast/chlorophyll and then are just like…photosynthesizing. And they’re super adorable. There are mushrooms communicating underground. There are seeds sitting in the dirt for decades like “no actually I will wait. It’s fine.” Squirrels plant trees because they forget where they put their snacks. Relatable. A CATERPILLAR GOES INTO A LITTLE BAG THAT IT CREATES ITSELF AND DISSOLVES MOST OF ITS BODY INTO ORGANIC GOO AND REARRANGES ITSELF, GROWS WINGS AND THEN LEAVES. WHY IS THIS NOT MORE BEAUTIFULLY TERRIFYING TO PEOPLE?? And you’re telling me a tiny acorn knows how to become a huge tree? It just has a blueprint inside itself? Your body started as ONE CELL. ONE. And that cell divided itself into a brain that can think about its own existence and eyes that can look at stars and hands that can hold somebody else’s hands and a heart that runs on electricity without you even asking it to? The iron in our blood was made inside a star?? We are walking around on a wet rock covered in bioluminescent oceans and singing whales and laughing rats and birds holding lifelong grudges and flowers exploding out of fire and somehow we’re supposed to act like this is a normal place to live? We’re supposed to act like this is all just a random, accidental sequence of events?

October 7 was not “retaliation” in the ordinary sense. Hamas planned the massacre for years as an act of jihad aimed at Israel’s destruction, consistent with its 1988 charter (Jews must be fought and killed; Israel is illegitimate) and its 2017 document (still rejects Israel’s existence and treats “resistance” as a duty). Hamas officials later said they spent two years preparing while letting Israel believe they were focused on governing. The attack targeted civilians—families, a music festival, kibbutzim—with documented rape, torture, and hostage-taking. That is not a reaction to a checkpoint or settlement; it is the group’s stated program. “Apartheid” does not describe Israel proper. Arab citizens (~21% of the population) vote, sit in the Knesset, serve on the Supreme Court, practice medicine and law, and use the same hospitals and public spaces. That is the opposite of South African apartheid. Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank are not Israeli citizens; the dispute is territorial, national, and security-driven after wars Israel did not start in 1948 and 1967. After Israel left Gaza in 2005, Hamas seized power in 2007 and turned the Strip into a rocket-and-tunnel base rather than a state. Israel has repeatedly offered land for peace and been refused. Jews accepted the 1947 UN partition; Arab states rejected it and attacked. At Camp David 2000 and under the Clinton Parameters, Israel offered a Palestinian state on most of the West Bank plus all of Gaza, land swaps, and shared arrangements in Jerusalem; Arafat rejected it and the Second Intifada followed. In 2005 Israel unilaterally removed every settler and soldier from Gaza. In 2008 Olmert offered roughly 93–94% of the West Bank with swaps, a Gaza–West Bank link, and limited refugee return; Abbas did not accept. After the Gaza withdrawal, Hamas and other groups fired thousands of rockets at Israeli towns. That is the pattern: offers met with rejection and terror, not “decades of unprovoked Israeli murder.” Netanyahu’s Qatar policy was a failed bet on quiet, not a plot to enable October 7. Successive Israeli governments, including Netanyahu’s, allowed Qatari cash into Gaza (coordinated with the U.S. after 2014) for salaries, fuel, and stipends, hoping it would keep Hamas governing instead of attacking and would split Hamas from the PA. Intelligence later showed diversion to Hamas’s military wing. That was a disastrous miscalculation. It does not make Hamas’s ideology or the massacre Israel’s doing. Hamas’s goal remains the elimination of Israel, not a better deal inside 1967 lines. From Israel’s perspective the core problem is not insufficient concessions. It is an enemy that treats Jewish sovereignty itself as the original sin and uses civilian populations as both shield and target.

The Bible told us where Noah's Ark landed. 4,000 years later, they're drilling right there. Genesis 8:4: "The ark came to rest on the mountains of Ararat." This week, scientists started drilling into a 515-foot, boat-shaped formation in the mountains of Ararat in eastern Turkey. Radar scans show angular walls, a central corridor, and three levels underground. Genesis 6:16 says the ark had three decks. The right place. The right shape. The right size. The right number of decks. Skeptics said the Hittites never existed, until their capital was dug up. They said Pontius Pilate was a legend, until his name turned up carved in stone. They said King David was a myth, until an ancient inscription named "the house of David." Every time, the ground ends up agreeing with the Bible. The Ark was real. The Flood was real. God's Word was always true.

God prophesied that the nations would turn against Israel in the end times. Rising antisemitism is expected. Maranatha.
I’m not Jewish, but I am genuinely distressed by the sheer amount of antisemitism in the World right now. It is incredibly disturbing to see people I once respected turn to the “Dark Side” and embrace one of humanity’s oldest forms of hatred. What the hell is wrong with people?

Listening to a sermon this weekend, I learned that the Jewish Talmud (Sanhedrin 41a) records that 40 years before the destruction of the Jewish Temple in 70 AD, the Sanhedrin officially lost the legal authority to carry out capital punishment. Forty years before 70 AD is 30 AD… most likely the year Jesus died. This wasn't a coincidence, it was divine providence setting the stage for the cross. If Jesus had been arrested just a year earlier, the Jewish leaders would have executed Him the way they wanted to... by stoning, because stoning was their method of capital punishment. But stoning wouldn't have fulfilled all the OT Scriptures prophesying His crucifixion, and it would’ve made Jesus a liar because He foretold His own crucifixion, too. God used the shifting political landscape of the Roman Empire and the Jewish courts to ensure that when the time came, the Jewish leaders were legally powerless to kill Jesus their way. They had to hand Him over to the Romans. They had to use the cross. When Pilate told them to judge Jesus themselves, they had to admit the frustrating truth that it was not lawful for them to put anyone to death (John 18:31). And John records the reason for this in the next verse: "This was to fulfill the word that Jesus had spoken to show by what kind of death he was to die." The Jews thought they were just using Roman law to get rid of a troublemaker... they didn't realize they were unwittingly fulfilling the exact specifications of God's redemptive plan. Not a single detail was left to chance. God was orchestrating the salvation of the world, down to the very method of execution. For my sin, and for yours. It honestly blows my mind when we get to see these little glimpses of how perfectly God's sovereignty works (seemingly) behind the scenes of human history.
