Tbh, it's not special to this game.
A good chunk of the pirate community have always been like this, if the game is good & the dev are of good faith: support them IF you can.
Lots are cracking the game first and buying later when it's affordable too.
On the PirateGames subreddit, they seem to have decided to call a truce on Control Resonant. Top comment is basically "let's buy this one and support them, lads" 🥲

Played a little with Snoot from @GSG3D and i'am not sure what the tool is for.
Maybe more documentations on how to use it would help but i'am not seeing a big difference at being faster/more quality if you know how to use area light already...
Maybe for some fun experiments.
