A lot has changed in our community over the past year, and I felt like it was a good time to share my thoughts. I never have and never will condemn anyone who takes a gambling sponsorship. I know how much these companies offer. Sometimes it really is almost too good to be true. Life-changing money, even for small creators. Personally, I have always politely declined. But I understand why people take it. What I can’t get behind is screaming from the rooftops “Don’t Gamble!” and “I will NEVER take a gambling sponsor” and then taking one as soon as times get a little 🤏 rough. The tough times in the CS2 market and the structural decline of the game over the past year have really brought out the worst in a lot of people in this community. Traders, players, content creators. Badge slop, engagement baiting, gambling sponsorships, drama. Hard times bring out the worst in people and show you who they really are. It’s easy to do well, be cheerful, and pretend to help others when times are good and money is flowing in. But it’s the hard times that show people’s true morals. That’s what we’re seeing now, and it’s sad how many community members have fallen off. I have never blocked and muted so many people on this platform as I have in the past few months. People I used to engage with. And I think that’s sad 🥀

when i was a kid i use to shout about how bad smoking is, i said id never smoke... i feel like maybe we can allow people to have strong stances without holding them prisoners to them. people are allowed to change their mind for what ever reasons they want.

Seeing your post now reminds me of why I’m happy to call you friend. Your moral compas is just on point. Never thinking about the quick buck - and there to help and support when needed.

My timeline has become very quiet over the past few months. While I understand that the lack of content, updates and skins in CS limits the original content that can be posted here, the current state of slop, bait and engagement farming posts has completely destroyed the CS community on Twitter. It has become a circle jerk of the same people trying to make a quick buck. I will out myself as the unc here, but both the game and the economy have seen much much worse in terms of the state of the game and player numbers (just check csgo player count in 2017/2018 when PUBG was booming). Prophesying the end of the game or skins entirely is just quick clickbait with no value attached to it. While gambling has always been a part of CSGO/CS2, both ingame and outside the game, I fully agree that changing your opinion on it for money makes you lose all your credibility and is very short-sighted. This 'market recession' will cleanse both the skin-content as well as the skin-trading side of CS, and I really cant wait for this to happen.

Having a moral compass is an expensive thing in nowadays world I've watched so many people switch up and change in the past year And honestly, I can't and won't blame them. We all live our own situations that few others know of Nonetheless, to act all high and mighty and to pretend you haven't changed instead of admitting to what you've done is where the line is crossed and where respect is lost

I blocked anyone that engagement farms or does any sort of sponsored post for any company. If you have nothing useful to say, just leave the platform and work a real job instead of trying to throw slop around

Millionares decided to talk about moral. Look at Vitality jersey, look at htlv org banners, look at zipel who made living from it for 3 generations, look at daily unboxing numbers and look at you - moral men milking crypto on top of this gambling machine pointing fingers lmao

you are right about hard times bringing out the worst in people. but you are wrong about these being hard times. still a long way to go :> i really hope these "investors" learn a valuable lesson when it comes to managing money - most are probably still young.

I blocked like 30 people in the past 2 months. That's 30 more than the past 5 years combined.

Real post, good read. The market crash can bring out emotions. Market crash also brings opportunity and wealth transfer. I have over invested by a lot, it is what it is but I need the price to go back up. Can devs do something? GOOD LUCK IN 2027 TRADERS
