Taiwan gave us the most concrete regulatory conversations we've had all year.
Time spent at @TaipeiWeek with regulators, banks, and builders, and the picture that emerged: stablecoin rules under the Virtual Asset Service Act could take effect as early as Q1.
Nine sets of supplementary regulations are currently in drafting. Issuers will need approval from both the central bank and the FSC, and the field will most likely open to banks first.
Just as notable was who's preparing for it. Financial institutions and companies engaged in cross-border commerce were asking practical integration questions, and new entrants are eyeing remittances as Taiwan's migrant workforce grows.

We begin testing proof-of-concepts with local partners in the coming months to establish a working settlement flow for the region, and when the regulation passes, our door is open to TWD stablecoin issuers.
