All DOGE required was contact information of the recipients to confirm that funding was not fraudulent. No validated medical funding was stopped. Anything that appeared to be legitimate lifesaving funding continued and is now administered by the State Department. If anyone had actually died as a result of DOGE, their names would be worldwide headline news! On the other hand, USAID did help fund the Wuhan Virology Institute, which caused the deaths of millions, and the revolution that started the Russia-Ukraine war.
Saturday, Silicon Valley Congressman Ro Khanna sat down with left-wing podcaster Jennifer Welch — who previously cheered on those celebrating the murder of Charlie Kirk — to discuss the future of “progressive” governance. In a now viral clip, Khanna claimed Elon Musk “possibly sentenced to death” 4.5 million children by dismantling USAID, and demanded he be subpoenaed once Democrats retake power. The number traces back to a Lancet study published last summer projecting 14 million deaths by 2030 from USAID cuts. But the study assumes a fake world: one where DOGE’s cuts stay frozen through 2030, where the State Department’s lifesaving waiver doesn’t exist (it does), where Congress never refunds AIDS relief (it did), where two decades of clinics and supply chains vanish the second a grant lapses. It also conveniently ignores some former USAID functions (like funding gain-of-function research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology). Meanwhile, NYU statistician Aaron Brown notes the study credits USAID with preventing 11 million more deaths than the entire global mortality decline over two decades. @planetmaxwell interrogates the claim that Elon and DOGE single-handedly killed millions of children, and explains why Silicon Valley’s congressman is now laundering this as settled fact (when it’s really just propaganda). True
The money being sent from USAID wasn’t for humanitarian efforts. USAID money was being LAUNDERED TO GEORGE SOROS to pay for protests Mike Benz exposes USAID has been sending money to George Soros NGOs, he then uses that money to FUND AND TRAIN PROTESTERS USAID paying for street protest handbooks to be printed “USAID gave $5 million to Open Society Foundation — USAID is actually funding George Soros and Soros is passing those funds to the people on the ground.” “USAID paid to have Saul Alinsky Street protest handbooks printed.” “The local politicians, the local judges, the local prosecutors, the local anti-corruption NGOs, the local media outlets, the local trade labor, labor groups and unions.” This is 100% true and it’s publicly available information In 2001, the Soros foundations network was listed USAID among its “donor partners” alongside other government aid agencies. There have been many documented collaborations We funded these protests handbooks USAID provided 5+ million noted in the Government Accountability Office reports for projects involving OSF-linked groups. These trained hundreds of young Macedonians in activism

USAID and other shady leftist charities used real suffering as a human shield for leftist graft! Almost 57% of USAID money to Haiti was...spent inside the DC Beltway. Just 2% made it to Haiti.
Ending USAID saved lives. Fact.

If you are asking “Why push back against anti-datacenter efforts?” I consider it a tragedy that anti-nuclear efforts largely strangled nuclear power in the US based on vibes, and I don’t want to see that happen to AI. Public opinion matters, and it shouldn’t be ceded unchallenged. If you are asking “Why should I support AI efforts at all?” I believe we are in the midst of a transition more vibrant than the industrial revolution. Opinions formed a couple of years ago about the uselessness of AI are no longer valid. Millions of people and organizations are getting great returns from using it, and the demand for data centers is the market responding to the value signal. That is how progress is made!

More riddles for @RoKhanna. The President of El Salvador came to the same conclusion as DOGE and celebrated the shutdown of USAID. Are you accusing the President who reduced his country’s murder rate by 95% of supporting the murder of children?

Soros wants to end Western Civilization
The open society and its enemy, Soros. While he named his Open Society Foundations after Karl Popper’s “The Open Society and Its Enemies,” his project stands as a philosophical inversion of everything Popper defended. Popper’s open society rested on critical rationalism, the recognition that no one possesses final truth, that institutions must remain open to criticism and piecemeal reform, and that democracy functions as a method for removing rulers without bloodshed. He rejected historicism, the belief in iron laws of history that justify sacrificing present generations for a utopian future, and warned that such thinking inevitably produces closed, authoritarian societies. Soros has repurposed the label to advance a grand project of engineered demographic transformation. Through mass immigration, multiculturalism as official policy, and diversity mandates that prioritize group identity over individual merit and assimilation, his foundations actively dissolve the cultural continuity and social trust that make rational criticism and incremental change possible. Popper understood that openness requires a stable framework, a shared language of reason, basic cohesion, and institutions citizens feel they collectively own. Soros treats those foundations as obstacles to be overcome in the name of an abstract, borderless openness. The concrete results are visible. Parallel societies that operate under different norms, public spaces where debate on the scale and selection of immigration is treated as illegitimate, and the rise of identity based hierarchies that close off dissent in the name of equity. These are certainly not expansions of the open society, but new forms of closure, tribal in character, enforced through institutional capture rather than overt dictatorship, yet hostile to the very critical spirit Popper placed at the center of civilized life. Philosophically, Soros replaces Popper’s falsification and humility before reality with a new historicism, the conviction that global multiculturalism and open borders represent inevitable moral progress, and that resistance from actual existing communities constitutes the new enemy. The machinery funded in the name of openness does not test its own assumptions against evidence, it suppresses the questions. Those who still value the ideal of an open society should read Popper on their own terms. They will find that Soros has not extended the open society, but has supplied its most sophisticated contemporary enemies.

Exactly. If there were mass deaths due to USAID, when are they? I would like to call the bereaved parents! Nobody died is the truth, but a lot of fraud, funding bioweapons and foreign government interference was stopped. Many lives were saved as a result of stopping the bad parts of USAID funding. The parts of funding that have some chance of doing good remain in place and were transferred to the State Department.
Democrats aren’t going after Elon Musk because of “dying children.” They are pissed off that DOGE cut their USAID slush fund used to manipulate information and tilt elections in our country and foreign countries. Notice the pattern? Since the 2025 USAID cuts, 7 conservative candidates swept presidential elections across Latin America: Ecuador, Bolivia, Honduras, Chile, Costa Rica, Colombia, and Peru. If USAID was still in place, Lula most likely wouldn’t have won in Brazil. Here, Samantha Power, the former administrator of USAID, proudly highlighted the agency’s role in influencing what she called “strategically important elections” through the Democratic Elections Fund. She also discussed how USAID funded journalists not only to report the news, but also to “fact-check” incoming information. USAID directed nearly $500 million to the Internews Network, a little-known NGO funded by the U.S. government. The organization worked with 4,291 media outlets, produced 4,799 hours of broadcasts in a single year, reached as many as 778 million people, and trained more than 9,000 journalists by 2023. Internews also supported social media censorship initiatives. USAID also funded and trained thousands of lawyers, judges, and election workers, conducted polls that questioned election legitimacy, published reports alleging fraud, and participated in overseeing new elections both in the United States and abroad, among many other activities. On the contrary, Elon Musk and DOGE actually saved millions of children. By cutting USAID influence, they let parents freely reject leftist failures on crime, economy, and socialism at the polls without manipulation.

It’s all fake and gay. Government and media manufactured the “class war” then pivoted to race war to absolve the state of blame for the 2008 crisis, sideline the Tea Party with racist media attacks, and consolidate power in leftist hands. The crash was produced by Fed money printing, Fannie and Freddie guarantees, and government mandates that forced risky loans into the system. When it collapsed the insiders got bailed out. The public absorbed the damage. The Tea Party demanded accountability for the bailouts and spending. Media met that challenge by branding the movement racist from the start. That attack neutralized a direct threat to big government and crony finance. Occupy was tolerated because it focused on banks and left the state’s central role untouched. And since the “racist” accusations worked on the Tea Party, the pivot to race delivered new tools for state expansion. Media usage of the word racist surged after 2012. Equity and systemic claims became the justification for deeper government reach into hiring, lending, education, and speech. The result is consolidated leftist power. The administrative state grew larger and more intrusive. Progressive ideology gained institutional dominance while opposition gets preemptively discredited rather than debated on substance. This sequence protected the government from reckoning with the crisis it created and shifted authority toward those who thrive on bigger government and identity based control. Now the woke narrative is crumbling, watch them pivot back to a class war.

USAID should be called USCON
How many people has Elon Musk personally murdered via his work helping defund USAID? I've run the numbers. USAID, as people outside of CNN's viewership already know, operates largely as a CIA cutout, placing assets on the ground in countries where the U.S. govt is intervening politically. USAID was instrumental is helping seed the following revolutions/coup d'états/civil wars: Serbia — Bulldozer Revolution (Oct. 2000) Venezuela — coup attempt + sustained OTI funding (April 2002) Georgia — Rose Revolution (Nov. 2003) Ukraine — Orange Revolution (2004) Haiti — Ouster of Aristide (Feb. 2004) Lebanon — Cedar Revolution (2005) Belarus — opposition funding, "Jeans Revolution" and after — attempted, failed (2006) Honduras — Coup against Zelaya (Jun. 2009) Cuba — ZunZuneo / "Cuban Twitter" — attempted, failed (2010–12) Tunisia — "Arab Spring" (2011) Egypt — "Arab Spring" (2011–12) Ukraine — Euromaidan / Revolution of Dignity (2014) Bolivia — anti-Morales funding; 2013 expulsion; 2019 ouster Kyrgyzstan — Tulip Revolution (March 2005) Without U.S. intervention, it's hard to see how any of these would have gotten off the ground. Some back-of-the-envelope math on these conflicts' bodycount: Venezuela (2002): 19 Haiti (2004): ~300 Maidan event (2014): ~100+ killed. Bolivia (2019): 36 Donbas war (2014–2022): 14,200–14,400 military & civilian deaths. Ukraine full-scale war (2022–present), deaths, both sides, mil + civ: roughly 350,000–500,000 killed. So far we're up to somewhere north of 365,000 deaths, more likely north of 500K. What else do we have? USAID also helped fund poppy (heroin) farmers in Afghanistan. Unfortunately I haven't seen estimates of how many have died as a result of this taxpayer funded drug dealing, but I'm assuming they're not small numbers. USAID also worked with groups sexually abusing/trafficking children in Kenya (2021), and the Central African Republic (2013). Much earlier, during Vietnam, USAID helped the CIA arm & feed Hmong guerrillas fighting communist forces (not the worst thing). USAID also helped the Hmong militia & other warlords smuggle opium (a far less forgivable thing). While the final tally is hard to properly calculate, if past is predicate, in helping shutdown USAID, @elonmusk could be saving hundreds of thousands of lives, thousands of African children, & millions of people around the world susceptible to opiate addiction. Get this man a Peace Prize, @NobelPrize
