We support the development of the ReScript programming language

Retreat! 14 contributors from 9 nations (including Korea and South Africa) joined us in Vienna to closely work together on @rescriptlang topics. We want to thank our main supporter cca.io for sponsoring our amazing work & coffee space!

We recently made some adjustments to rescript-lang.org's navigation to give a better overview of the documentation platform and allow quicker access to different sections with fewer clicks. Let us know what you like / dislike for future improvements!

Wow what a weekend! We refined lots of details in the @rescriptlang docs design: - Way more space for actual content & less padding - Fixed sidebar for vertical tablets - New CodeTab w/ playground popup & code copy button This will make reading content way more enjoyable!

Due to feedback we rephrased the label for the v8.0.0 docs to `< 8.2.0`.

Design overhaul will follow in the next few weeks. Finally our users don't have to leave the docs platform just to have a look at the config schema.

Small UI changes in the @rescriptlang documentation: API signatures are now displayed in a more consistent manner (also added back H2 headings for each API item). We also changed the looks of our code tabs components and reduced paddings / spacings in the content area.

Search functionality is now enabled on rescript-lang.org. New: it's also capable of searching API content as well. Please note that we will improve the search UI and search results in the near future. Enjoy

Thanks to @jdeisenberg, the Js and Belt module docs are constantly improving! Latest additions were the Js.Date module docs: reasonml.org/apis/javascript… Here are some screenshots comparing the original version with the new improved version:

Many folks asked for it, and now it's part of the documentation: 🔑 Overview of all reserved keywords in Reason: reasonml.org/docs/manual/lat… 💥 A new section on how to handle naming collisions when mapping to JS: reasonml.org/docs/reason-com… Kudos to @sgrove for kicking it off!

A lot of our users were confused on how to type optional labeled arguments, e.g.`~user: user=?` or `~user: option(user)=?` Why does the compiler always change its mind every time? tsnobip made a fantastic PR to our docs to explain the mechanics: reasonml.org/docs/manual/lat…

genType is an absolute gem in the Reason ecosystem when doing TS / JS / Flow interop. Unfortunately the tool is not really well documented on any Reason / BS related website. We want to change that and provide first class support for genType in the new documentation platform!

How many times have you wished to have at least a small overview / list of all available BuckleScript [@bs.*] decorators? @fham_r (content by @moroshko) got you covered with a new page on our (still WIP) BuckleScript docs!

We are currently experimenting with different fonts, colors and layout designs for the Reason language manual and are especially happy with the current state of light-theme codesnippets!

New Reason genType version is out! v3.12.0 will make sure your comment headers are emitted in your generated TS files as well (super useful for better VSCode autocompletion) Thanks to @_schmavery for the feature request! Other changes can be found here: github.com/cristianoc/genTyp…

LIGO, a language for writing #Tezos smart-contracts, is now supporting a Reason syntax flavor! Reason will not only be a good language for building type-safe ReactJS applications, but will also provide resources to get into the Tezos blockchain domain. ligolang.org/

The freshest UI concept for a ReasonML Playground. Note how BuckleScript & ReasonReact versions are selectable and the Reason version visible? We imagine this to be a great tool for testing BS pre-releases, easy bug reporting and feature showcasing. Concept only // WIP

We just received our brand new stickers, which you'll hopefully find soon at many conferences and events (definitely at @reasonconf). Adding shiny materials is not so trivial, so we are especially happy about the holographic effect ✨ (design by @_bettystein)

We are really happy to start our contributions to odoc, OCaml's tool for generating HTML documentation from OCaml modules. An important goal is to seamlessly integrate the odoc workflow into the Reason ecosystem and make it the one true tool for docs. reason-association.org/proje…
