Most of Friar Street will be closed to traffic for the first part of next week while resurfacing work is carried out. The team will be upgrading the town centre road between its junctions with West Street and Station Road. Work will be taking place between 7pm-1am on Monday 7, Tuesday 8 and Wednesday 9 September but the street will be continuously closed to traffic from 7pm Monday 7 until 1am Thursday 10 September. Thank you for your cooperation and patience in advance. Seventeen sections of main road are being resurfaced across the borough in this programme of works, following the Council’s biggest ever investment in road maintenance in Reading, which has taken place over the last six years.
