For online propagandists, controlling the frame is more important than facts.
Imagine shopping for paint, and the salesman structures the conversation so you only talk about shades of red. Blue, green, and yellow are all right there, but you never discuss them. You only debate which shade of red is correct.
You can bring evidence, win every factual point, and prove that it’s burgundy rather than crimson. But he still controls the conversation by deciding what counts as relevant.
The real move was never winning the argument about red. It was getting you to accept that red was the argument, while the other colors disappeared from discussion.
And because you were free to debate every shade of red, it felt like an open debate even though the boundaries had already been set for you.
That’s frame control.
You have to understand: “the other side” is not arguing in good faith. They are using the conversation operationally to impose their frame, redirect you, force you onto the defensive, manufacture concessions, and shape your perception.
You are presenting evidence. They are managing you.
That is the asymmetry. Your “correct argument” cannot defeat a person or tactic whose purpose is not to answer you, but to manipulate you.
