The mother of murdered 18-year-old Sheridan Gorman says she could hear lawmakers laughing while she testified about losing her daughter, and she singled out Rep. Pramila Jayapal for telling the families there were “many other things we could be doing.” Jessica Gorman didn't hold back Thursday. “They give us five minutes to tell our daughter's story. Our dead children's story. She listened to four before mine. She didn't want to listen to another.” Gorman also accused Rep. Jerry Nadler of napping during the congressional hearing. Sheridan was an 18-year-old freshman at Loyola University Chicago when she was shot and killed near the Chicago lakefront in March. Jose Medina, a Venezuelan national who entered the U.S. illegally and had previously been released following a shoplifting arrest, is charged with her murder. RIP. On his final shift before retirement, K9 Kylo was murdered while protecting the community he had served for six years. K9 Kylo was murdered when he was shot and killed while attempting to apprehend a homicide suspect in the area of Southeast 97th Avenue and Southeast Oak Street in Portland. Around 1:45 p.m., the U.S. Marshals Service Pacific Northwest Violent Offender Task Force, working with the Portland Police Bureau and Gresham Police Department, attempted to arrest a man wanted for murder. While trying to apprehend the man, gunfire was exchanged, and K9 Kylo was struck. K9 Kylo was transported to an emergency veterinary facility, where he succumbed to his wound. The violent offender was pronounced dead at the scene. Portland Police described Kylo as “happy, quirky, goofy.” He was known for howling along with the sirens on calls, and off duty he loved exploring the forest and playing with his little brother Apollo, a miniature dachshund. 🖤🙏💙🙏🖤

Hollywood made him famous as the tough guy who couldn't be broken. But his real life told a different story: he survived poverty, served his country, faced war, endured rejection, suffered heartbreaking loss—and kept moving forward. That is the kind of generation America was built by. Men and women who didn't expect life to be easy. They worked, they sacrificed, they served, and they endured. K9 BART IS DEAD. K9 Bart sat outside for 36 hours with no water while the man who was supposed to feed him wasn't even home. Madison County, Tennessee. Bart, a German Shepherd just over 2 years old, worked patrol, criminal apprehension, tracking, article searches, and narcotics. Sheriff Julian Wiser says his own handler left him unattended outside for approximately 36 hours with zero access to water while the heat index sat at 101 degrees. A university vet program in Mississippi confirmed it: heat stroke from severe dehydration. Preventable. Wiser used that word himself. The handler got administrative leave, then resigned before anyone could fire him. Now an internal affairs investigation and a criminal investigation are both running, with findings headed to outside authorities. Thirty six hours. This dog worked apprehension, tracking, narcotics, everything asked of him, and the one thing his handler owed him back was a bowl of water and thirty seconds to check on him. He didn't get either. On May 9, 2025, you went to Delaney Hall. So did Rep. Watson Coleman. So did Rep. Menendez. Same facility. Same day. Same "job." They toured. They left. Nobody charged them with a thing. If the crime were oversight, all THREE of you would be in the indictment. That is not rocket science. That is counting to three. The grand jury (June 10, 2025, 18 U.S.C. § 111(a)) is not talking about the tour. It is talking about the scrum outside the gate when officers moved to arrest Mayor Baraka. A forearm into an HSI agent. Grabbing him. Both forearms into an ICE officer. Those are the allegations. You pleaded not guilty, and you get the presumption of innocence. Good. You have a whole lot more to think about right now than talking points and party politics. You are also a representative, and your district takes its cues from you. Is this what you want them to learn? That getting physical with public servants at a gate is just "doing my job"? Oh, wait. Never mind. That only counts when the public servant is a cop. If somebody put a forearm into an expectant mother who happens to be a congresswoman, it would lead every network for a month. I forgot how the rules work. And the irony, which is thick as a brick: you're getting a grand jury, appeals, a rehearing petition, deadline extensions. That's due process. The same system of courts and hearings you call "merciless" when it applies to somebody else. Told you we'd come back to it.
