I will get it done. Here's how you can, too. 1. Get access to your county's voter registration rolls. This can be done through your County GOP. 2. You need to find registered Republicans (around your age) who are 3/4 or 4/4 propensity voters, meaning they've voted in 3 or 4 of the last 4 elections. If you really need to reach, identify those 2/4 voters, too. 3. Find out how many of those voters live within ~15 minutes of you. See if your County GOP can just give you this list or a map. (Most County GOP offices are absolute dogshit, unfortunately, which is why we need to staff them with our guys who can do this.) 4. Get in touch with them. If you can get phone numbers or emails, great. Send them *HIGHLY PERSONALIZED* messages. (This could mean looking them up on social media to see what they're posting about, then, within reason, aligning your messaging to the issues they care about.) If all you have is an address, you will have to go door knocking. Do it either during the week from 6-8pm or on a Saturday morning, 10am-12pm. 5. Your BRIEF message should look/sound like this: "Hey, my name is [John Smith] and I'm reaching out to help Republicans cross the finish line in midterm elections. Do you plan to vote for the Republican ticket?" > If yes, *HIGHLY* encourage them to vote early, which starts on 17 October. > If no, follow up with this: "No problem. Can I ask your top issue this year?" Then LISTEN. Don't try to argue or debate. Your mission is to tie that specific issue to a specific candidate or reason why they should go vote. That could be as simple as saying that the future of Texas is on the line. We need your vote because if Democrats win, they will try to turn Texas permanently blue, and we will end up as the next California. Use your words. Be persuasive. And then deliver the ask: "Can our Texas Republicans count on your vote?" If yes, ask if they want a text reminder to go vote, then grab their number and TEXT THEM when early voting starts. If they still say no, you are probably wasting your time, bid them farewell, and go engage the next voter. 6. Lastly, 90% of organizing is in the follow-up. So follow up! Get in touch with these voters again for early voting. These are like-minded people who LIVE AROUND YOU, so this is also the perfect opportunity to begin organizing them, or even just becoming a friend. Your goal is to find 15 voters and get them to the polls for early voting. Elections are NOT won on Election Day. They are won in the last few weeks. And it's important, so important, to mobilize during early voting. So, that's your mission. You can follow through, or you can be a disgrace to our Founders (ancestor cry) and generations of American Patriots who came before you. Don't give up the ship!

America lost one in six of its neighborhood bars in a single decade, and the killer was real estate math. A bar like this can pour $3 beers because the building was paid off decades ago. The owner often lives upstairs. No rent, no investors, no debt service on a Pabst sign that's been hanging there for 40 years. The moment that building sells, the math dies with it. A new operator inherits a market-rate lease, which forces $9 drinks, which forces a renovation to justify $9 drinks, which produces another exposed-brick cocktail bar where the dive used to be. The Midwest kept its dive bars because of how they got built in the first place. Before Prohibition, Milwaukee's breweries put up corner taverns themselves. Pabst and Schlitz wanted guaranteed outlets for their beer, so they built bars directly into residential blocks. That's why these places sit on quiet snowy corners between houses instead of on commercial strips where rent explodes. Chicago had around 3,300 tavern licenses in 1990. It's down to about 1,200. At the worst of the decline, America was losing six neighborhood bars a day. And every single closure is permanent. You can't build a dive bar. You can only inherit one.
