The lengths companies will go to take power away from consumers is wild. I think the push towards digital is more about removing ownership and eliminating the used game market than it is about convenience.
Imagine if digital games used blockchain to give players true ownership of their purchases and the ability to resell them. No shot it happens anytime soon, but it would be nice lol.

Sony is pushing the digital format, eliminating physical media and closing its PS3 and PS Vita stores. This will severely damage the secondhand market and retail outlets.
