"Gaslighting" has become one of the most overused words on the planet, but sometimes it's the only word that applies. What else can you call this kind of journalism? People are deplatformed, de-banked, cancelled, fired, arrested and shunned for online speech. Platforms close accounts and ban certain outlets or topics from discussion. Links are blocked, or have their reach limited intentionally. This is the most censored the internet has ever been, and every year countries pass new laws demanding new kinds of censorship, and the press cheer them on because of the "dangers" of an "unregulated" internet. ...and then they turn around and publish articles telling you it isn't happening.
