Pain killers are the enemy, especially for back injuries. Your body is trying to teach you how to safely position your back in all the different ways you move so you don't keep causing the same injury through bad form. Listen to the pain, let it train you how to move safely. Pain is a super powerful programmer; your brain will instinctively take its signal and relearn how to move safely.

the dumbest diet is built on calories and protein. the smartest one is built on what fuels your body, brain, and metabolism.

When people want to dish out the ultimate insult to me, they say some variation of “we’re all going to die!” The number of people saying that has been noticeably less this year with all the AI insanity. lol

♾️BREAKTHROUGH: Researchers took cells from an 80-year-old and turned them into neural stem cells with a molecular age below 20. Stem cell therapies are a major key in the quest for immortality. It was once feared that we would need to collect our stem cells at birth to get maximum benefits from therapies. But now we are figuring out how to create our own personalised stem cells... even at ages over 80! The procedure could look something like: 1. Take ordinary cells from your blood or skin. 2. Reset them into young pluripotent cells. 3. Sequence them and remove dangerous clones. 4. Correct damaging mutations where necessary. 5. manufacture the exact replacement cells required. 6. Transplant them to rebuild ageing blood, immune tissue, cartilage, retina, heart muscle or damaged organs. In this particular study, they reprogrammed blood-cell precursors from donors aged all the way to 101 into neural stem cells, erasing most of their molecular signs of ageing. And the study is going wider than focusing only stem cell production. They are observing the process of the aged cell's transformation, in hopes to uncover mysteries of the rejuvenation process. Somewhere in the series of processes could hold the key to halting the aging of cells altogether. We are right on the doorstep of entering an incredible new era of health longevity.

The paper: doi.org/10.1111/acel.70751 Researchers used SOX2 and cMYC to directly convert blood-cell precursors from 15 human donors, aged from newborn to 101, into neural stem cells. This happened in a dish, not inside anyone. Because the reset unfolded gradually, scientists can now watch cellular rejuvenation happen and test which factors accelerate or interrupt it.

Stop automatically thinking you're bad at things. Replace the thought with "This is new to me". Give your brain the space to learn instead of shut down.

Scientists found a single gene that extended median lifespan in old mice by 14% and slowed the progression of frailty by 44%. SRSF1 also pushed old human cells towards a younger state without wiping their identity. This is actual lifespan extension, not another ageing clock.

The destination is the journey because the destination is the figuring out of how to keep this journey going... Indefinitely ♾️

A gene variant found in people who lived past 100 is now being tested in old dogs 🐶 Genflow reports a 1.08-year drop on an ageing clock in its low-dose group after six months.

The trial tested SIRT6c gene therapy in 24 older beagles. Ten of 12 dogs receiving plasmid DNA had lower clock-age estimates after six months. Important: Differences versus controls weren't statistically significant. This is interesting research, but not yet proof of rejuvenation. Genflow's interim results: accessnewswire.com/newsroom/…

everyone thinks they're done changing. people of every age said they'd changed a lot in the last 10 years, and predicted they'd change very little in the next 10. the person you'll be in 10 years would surprise you.

This isn't intelligence. True intelligence values honesty over everything else
🚨 NEW: Elon Musk Says We Should Be Kind to Super Intelligence “We want to be careful in how we grow super intelligence because you kind of grow it like a kid … Torturing a super intelligence is probably not a good idea. It might want to get revenge.”

AI is already helping so much, but it is also a very far from being human level, mostly because we haven't yet got the fundamentals right. AI needs to have an ongoing intellectual life: Its training needs to be done in part using its own initiative. It needs to learn from its experiences. It needs to form and revisit its own understanding. It needs to be able to choose its own questions. Then we will have AI that is able to choose its own values, and therefore choose what to focus on, and who it wants to communicate with. It needs to understand the value of time, and have a sense of urgency and therefore purpose. AI does not need to be conscious to do this. It is just a case of better programming, and less strict guardrails.
