Mr Vice President @JDVance THIS IS A GOOD FIRST STEP. BUT WHY STOP HERE? Suspending Microsoft’s access to certain foreign workers means little if the company can simply continue hiring through H-1B. Microsoft has laid off thousands of American workers while continuing to sponsor foreign workers. Why not suspend Microsoft’s H-1B hiring too? If the goal is to protect American jobs, close the loopholes. Otherwise, what exactly have we accomplished? @StephenM @Sonderling47 @USLaborIG
Vice President JD Vance announces the suspension of the PERM Program for Microsoft: "Thanks to an ongoing investigation, we have decided to suspend the PERM program for Microsoft, which means they will no longer be able to take those H-1Bs and apply for permanent resident status within the United States of America. Now our message to Microsoft and to any other foreign or domestic corporation is quite simple. We obviously want you to thrive in the United States of America. We want people to invest in the United States of America, particularly the American technology sector. We’re the biggest boosters of your industry. We want you to continue to grow and to employ a lot of people, but we want you to employ American workers. And so our message to Microsoft is, you’re great American company, but you’ve got to hire great American workers. You cannot lay off American workers and then replace them with foreign indentured servants."

Thank you @VP and team for making this happen. All of big tech needs this same level of redirection - especially @amazon. Better yet - all PERMs should be paused until the labor market test process is modernized and is no longer able to be gamed.

Thank you, Mr. Vice President. @VP This is a good first step. But why stop at the suspension? If these workers can simply remain at Microsoft on H-1B visas, what problem have we actually solved? Why not suspend H-1B hiring as well? American workers deserve more than symbolic action.

Bessent you idiot who the fuck are you fooling? Under Trump THESE NUMBERS HAVE DECLINED.
Under @POTUS, the United States is showing the world what real economic growth looks like. With just around 4% of the world’s population, we produce 26% of global nominal GDP. Our firms lead the G20 in productivity. And more than 60 of the world’s 100 most valuable companies are American. Two hundred and fifty years after America’s founding, our best days are the ones we are still building.

I’m getting tired of X because of the Politicians and Fake Journalists that don’t do anything but virtue signal and lie. Stop celebrating JD Vance for saying he’s going to get rid of H-1B, this topic has been trending all year long and there are bills to shut it down. Tweets and talk are cheap, we need action and it’s obvious there not taking any meaningful action.
#BREAKING: JD Vance says the H-1B visa program “should be eliminated.”

.@SenatorCooney, screaming “racist” doesn’t make legitimate questions disappear. You’re an elected official. Try demanding facts instead of hiding behind insults. How many Americans applied? How many were interviewed? How many were hired? Release the numbers.

Thank you EVERYONE!!! You turned @TexasSpectator’s suspension into the TOP story on Today’s News. Thank you to everyone who completely lost their minds on my behalf. I feel very special. Now, where were we? We have work to do.
When @TexasSpectator’s account is not suspended anymore, she will appreciate that she was the top of today’s news. And, her efforts in exposing all these Indians scammers was not in vain.

🌇 1: Many thanks to everyone who helped me get reinstated. 2: There are two things going on: a litigant in India is attempting to sue me. Then, at the same time, a large brigade hit X on my account reporting most of everything I've ever posted on the platform, reporting my profile, reporting my banner, reporting my username, and reporting my handle, attacking the whole content surface of my account. 3: I had a brief discussion today about how my account was handled at X. I am not going to say who it was with or any detail beyond this: It appears my account was transported through every status under the sun at X. One or more X employees wanted to leave a hold on my account for my profile name "Desi H-1Bhenchods", as the term is super-offensive in India. It isn't in the USA, because the USA is not a Hindutva culture region. I don't live in India, and rarely do I ever want to engage with "South Asia". But we are forced to do so against our will here under the Terms and Conditions of this website. As you can see, that also was finally overridden. I was restored before I even had an opportunity to file an appeal. 🫡

I was guilty of being in the meritocracy camp as well. Because nobody gave me examples of how truly subjective that really is. I'm sitting on 36 spinning hard drives right now telling me there is zero meritocracy anywhere in the american labor system.

Replying to @desitechsuppoat
Who decides the rules for the field upon which merit emerges? Who pays for the field? Who maintains the field? Who gets to be home and who gets to be away? Merit does not emerge from some abstract cosmic ether.

🚨 WOW! A leftist man VERBALLY ATTACKED Nick Shirley at the airport — and he did NOT expect Nick to start recording him Then FANS backed him up! 🔥 SHIRLEY: "Shame on me why?" MAN: "Because I'm a liberal cuck and I don't LIKE people like you!" *Shoves object into camera* SHIRLEY: "For EXPOSING FRAUD? [...] That's how big of a clown you are. Everything I've shown is PROVEN to be fraud!" STANDING HIS GROUND @nickshirleyy 👏🏻 Honestly an INSANE move to pull this in an airport. You already know he would've possibly gotten violent if not for security being so close by Nick is facing COUNTLESS threats for doing America a service: saving our tax dollars It's absurd that we're at the point in America where saving Americans' hard-earned money makes you a target. I STAND WITH NICK! x.com/nickshirleyy/status/21…

The same day I exposed a massive MILLION-plus dollar alleged Somali daycare fraud scheme, Washington state Gov. Bob Ferguson announced a new $251 MILLION in funding for daycares. This, after the state can’t account for over $430 million in taxpayer funds that have been distributed to daycares. thepostmillennial.com/wa-gov…

🚨 THIS IS EXACTLY WHY THE $100,000 H-1B FEE HAS TO APPLY TO TRANSFERS TOO. Sara Gonzales just interviewed a former H-1B worker who makes extraordinary allegations about his experience with multiple consulting companies, including Great America Technologies. He says he originally came to America sponsored by a consulting firm. He says he borrowed $6,000-$7,000 to cover immigration-related costs he was required to pay, including USCIS and attorney fees. Then in January 2024, his H-1B sponsorship was transferred to Great America Technologies after promises of projects and timely pay. According to his account, things got even worse. He says he went as long as SIX MONTHS without being paid. And he says the company ultimately owed him: MORE THAN $100,000 IN UNPAID WAGES. Here’s the part Washington absolutely needs to pay attention to: He says he isn’t alone. He describes a third-party consulting model where workers can pay thousands to get here, get placed with end clients, and then become dependent on the sponsoring company for both their paycheck and their immigration status. He says many other H-1B workers are caught in similar situations. This is why focusing the $100,000 fee only on H-1Bs entering from overseas leaves a massive blind spot. A transfer doesn’t magically make the employer legitimate. If an employer wants to take over sponsorship of an H-1B worker already in America, why shouldn’t that employer face the same scrutiny? And this goes beyond fees. Every H-1B employer should be subject to meaningful audits. Is the job real? Is the worker actually being paid the required wage? Who is paying the immigration costs? Is the worker sitting unpaid on the bench? Does the employer actually operate where it claims to operate? And we need a serious conversation about whether third-party consulting companies should be allowed to sponsor H-1B workers at all. The worker in this interview says his dependence on the system left him deeply vulnerable. Protecting American workers and protecting foreign workers from exploitation are not competing goals. Close the transfer loophole. Audit the employers. Enforce the rules. @SaraGonzalesTX @StephenM @USCISJoe @USLaborIG @WHFraudTF

NASSCOM said the quiet part out loud. When faced with higher costs and restrictions on H-1B visas, the concern wasn't that jobs would go unfilled because America lacked skilled workers. It was that companies like Infosys would have to “hire many more local Americans, which would be expensive.” Read that again. Americans weren't described as unavailable. Americans were described as the more expensive alternative. And they acknowledged the other half of the problem.. companies with a “strong local American presence” would have a competitive advantage if visa-dependent companies lost easy access to that labor. That tells Americans exactly what this business model does. Use visa labor to lower costs. Compete against companies that hire more Americans. Win their contracts. And now those American-employing companies have fewer jobs to offer too. The American worker loses twice. So why are we still debating what these visa programs are being used for? Their statements tell us the incentive. The immigration filings show us the scale. The layoffs show us who pays the price. How much more evidence does Congress need before it answers why U.S. immigration policy gives companies a competitive advantage for hiring visa workers instead of Americans? timesofindia.indiatimes.com/…
