"Every stock, every bond, every fund, every asset, can be tokenized." Larry Fink, quoted in @Forbes last week 👀 Same piece, a July Broadridge survey: 84% of North American financial executives consider tokenisation strategically important. 26% have it in production. What separates the 26% is sequencing: executive sponsorship, legal clarity, infrastructure decisions, in that order.

Institutions are quietly moving billions of dollars of real assets onchain.

$44.8B in RWAs across 32 chains. Ethereum holds 52.1% of the market, while BNB, Solana, XRP, Stellar and others are already carving out meaningful share. And this is still early. As more real-world assets move onchain, the battle for RWA liquidity is going to get very interesting. The trillion-dollar question is which chains capture it. (cc: @tokenterminal)

Vincent Gramoli just laid out one of the sharper cases I’ve seen for why national sovereignty in digital infrastructure isn’t some abstract talking point anymore — it’s becoming survival math. He starts with a real June example that should wake people up. US government tells Anthropic to cut off certain AI models for foreign nationals. Anthropic can’t reliably check nationality on every single API call, so they just switch the models off for everyone. Overnight, organisations worldwide lose access to tools they relied on — for reasons they had zero control over. That’s the dependency trap in action. #Redbelly was built from the ground up to avoid exactly this kind of external choke point. Consensus developed in Australia — University of Sydney and CSIRO — instead of inheriting code that could carry hidden backdoors or foreign control. Leaderless DBFT, superblock consensus, formally verified security, deterministic finality with no forks or probabilistic waiting. The kind of design that doesn’t ask permission to keep running. Then there’s the node distribution. Hundreds of nodes spread across continents. Enough geographic spread that no single country or entity can realistically gather enough control to censor transactions or rewrite the ledger. Published and stress-tested in IEEE S&P. That’s proper #CensorshipResistance, not marketing language. The bigger point lands when you apply it to finance. If advanced AI models can get recalled on a directive, what happens when the same logic hits tokenised bonds, private credit, or wholesale CBDC settlement? Most countries still lean on settlement and custody layers built and governed abroad. Compliance rules and geopolitical moves don’t always come with long transition periods — sometimes they just arrive. Redbelly’s mainnet is already live with partners issuing real #RWA products. The Reserve Bank of Australia selected it for Project Acacia, including testing tokenised wholesale markets and even wCBDC settlement on a public chain. When a central bank wants credible infrastructure in the room for the future of money, this is the setup that stays standing when someone else flips a switch. Digital asset rails are turning strategic fast. AI got the first real lesson in June. Finance is next. Nations that want to keep their economies running on their own terms need settlement infrastructure that can’t be yanked away by decisions made elsewhere. This is why building from scratch with real decentralisation and local roots matters more than ever. redbelly-network-token:native #RedbellyNetwork #Blockchain #Sovereignty #Tokenisation #RWA #FinancialInfrastructure #Australia #DBFT #ProjectAcacia #DigitalFinance #CensorshipResistance

This week we are walking through one of the five Project Acacia use cases that settled on Redbelly Network: the @ausbondexchange pilot. A tokenised corporate bond, traded in the secondary market, settled with the @RBAInfo's pilot wCBDC. Both bond and wCBDC on the same public ledger 🧵

Replying to @RedbellyNetwork
@RedbellyNetwork cryptographic solutions allowed the @RBAInfo to contol the transfer of Australian dollar assets. This demonstrated the benefit of tokenisation as described in the DFCRC Acacia final report.

@RedbellyNetwork offers a higher level of decentralised control for the benefit of tokenisation as reported in the DFCRC Acacia final report. In particular, its leaderless consensus protocol does not suffer from a single point of failure, which would be the leader in leader-based protocols.

The headline makes it sound like tokenization is failing because a lot of assets don't move. I think that's the wrong lens. Most of the dormant value is in permissioned institutional products that were never designed to trade like memecoins. A BlackRock treasury fund sitting in 100 wallets isn't a dead product, but rather, a custody and settlement product. The real issue is that tokenized assets still lack distribution. You can issue a tokenized bond or stock today, but it usually isn't integrated into the apps, brokerages, and financial workflows where billions of users already are. So the infrastructure exists, but the demand side is still fragmented.
sobering take on the current state of tokenized assets from @beincrypto report: - majority have close to zero velocity - largest RWA closely held in just a handful of wallets - lots are in locked-down token types still a lot of work to do! forbes.com/sites/astanley/20…

The use-case in which Redbelly participated demonstrated how it enables composability by taking existing financial products and services (money, payments, interests) and combining them to create new complex products and services, hence demonstrating the benefit of tokenisation reported by the DFCRC.

Public Digital Token Infrastructure #PDTI under the Australian law is an open-source, decentralized, and publicly accessible blockchain software or hardware, explicitly exempted from being classified as a financial product or clearing and settlement facility, allowing it to function without traditional financial licences. This is how blockchain becomes regulated.
