My attempt to express in somewhat concise terms the true meaning of basically everything planned to happen to Ethereum starting from the fork after Hegota. It's really not just a blockchain anymore. It's a hybrid architecture that combines together blockchains and modern cryptography, to enable much more powerful properties.
FOCIL, EIP-8288, Lean consensus, state management, formal verification, advanced mempool improvements (including privacy), and the longer-term specter of obfuscation all mentioned.

It’s great to read ZK mentioned by regulators but don’t be fooled.
The privacy industry still has a lot of abstraction work to do.
No one says “I want my email sent over the TLS protocol and encrypted with PGP”
They say “Make sure the email is protected while it’s being sent, and that only the intended recipient can read the message itself.”
Then they go deeper:
“Only these people should have access.”
“I need proof that the system meets our security requirements.”
“It has to work with the systems we already use.”
“I need to know who can see what, under which conditions.”
“I need an audit trail without exposing the underlying data.”
You can keep going deeper into the product requirements without ever mentioning the cryptography.
That’s the level ZK needs to reach.
The breakthrough is not when everyone understand zk proofs.
It’s when they can specify the privacy, control, compliance and interoperability they need without having to think about zk proofs at all.
🚨 LATEST: SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce says zero-knowledge proofs could verify compliance without collecting users’ personal data.
She warns current KYC/AML practices create “data haystacks.”
