You don’t need blockchain to use Zero knowledge proofs. The reason they aren’t used is computation costs and complexity which are a problem regardless of platform

Ms Pierce didn’t call for less AML. She called for proving one attribute instead of copying the passport into every PSP. The bit this piece skipped. If that proof turns out stale/issued on a stolen ID, who does the examiner hold: issuer, or rail that treated valid as a CIP file?

Peirce pushing zero-knowledge proofs for compliance instead of KYC data harvesting is the most crypto-native take I've heard from an SEC commissioner, and she's right that the current AML regime is a data nightmare.
