INSIGHT: SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce calls for a rethink of KYC and AML oversight. She argues the "more data, the better" approach creates haystacks too big to find needles, and that zero-knowledge proofs could verify compliance without exposing personal data.

Sad day in NFT land but grateful we have @0xQuit and @Jiri123_eth who helped save user funds! ❤️ Wanted to share some best practices in NFT security based on Three Address Protocol (TAP) from @punk6529. These practices are baked into the 6529 dot io account setup process to help secure all the users in that ecosystem. NFTs should be fun, not scary. Using the @goodvibesclub content generator app I put together an infographic that might prove helpful.

As of 2026, all 1,000 Ringers minted on @artblocks_io have been displayed in a museum context. Join myself and @redbeardnft on October 12th in Tel Aviv to discuss what it means to collect art in a digital environment and what these changes might mean for the future of collecting and the place of digital art in museums and art history. tamuseum.org.il/en/event/art…

This is great. The rotation of art to people that really want it is really great to see. This process happens slowly but each piece that moves to someone that loves it and gives the art a good home is reason for celebration.
Wow🤯! Dreams come true! I just bought one of the most magical artworks I have ever wanted to have. I’ve been collecting different Ecumenopolis over the years since its launch on @artblocks_io, created by @gengeomergence aka Josh Bagley! I have bought and I have sold over the years, but always looking into curating my collection the best I could, even though prices kept coming down. And today I finally acquired a palette I’ve been looking into buying since the beginning. I’ve always wanted a “black and white” Ecumenopolis, but I wanted a “Lunar, Rust” palette, which mixes black & white with the “Lights: Party” trait, which is automatic for this palette, meaning it’s “lights on” but they’re colorful lights. I mean, this is quite technical for someone not a “connoisseur” of Ecumenopolis, but for someone like me, it comes as clear as water and as a dream! Someone WETH’ed this beauty a few days ago, no shame in that since I myself have done that and also recently, and today as I was looking at the collection’s floor there it was, for “free” - 0.12ETH! Back in the day these were even listed and when listed they would perhaps cost 25-30 ETH. Now in the Boomer’s vault! 🤩🙏🙏🙏 ECUMENOPOLIS #425

So impressive
At 9AM EST today somebody abused a bug in Payment Processor V2 to steal 10 Meebits, 50 Otherdeeds, 10 WoW, and 235 Desperate Apewives. It wasn't until over 12 hours later that somebody reported it to me, and upon digging in I realized that a great many NFTs were subject to the same exploit. I got in touch with the team over at LimitBreak and they quickly paused Payment Processor V3, which was subject to the same exploit. Unfortunately, V2 was not pausable, so the only path towards protecting affected assets was to run a whitehat operation. Similarly, V3 on ApeChain is temporarily in a state where it cannot be paused, so ApeChain assets approved to V3 needed to be saved as well. All in all, we rescued 23,155 NFTs worth north of $5.7M USD. We later discovered that a similar exploit could be used in reverse to steal WETH. 660 WETH was at risk, which we unfortunately were not fast enough to recover. Apologies to those affected. Shout out to @Boomskite for flagging the initial exploit tx to me, and @coffeedev @0xjustadev and @whiteoakkong for acting quickly and assisting with the recovery. All NFTs are safely relocated. Soon, owners will be able claim them back after revoking the exploitable approvals. Addresses to revoke below.

We are sharing an interim update regarding an exploit identified with @limitbreak Payment Processor V2, a NFT trading protocol maintained by the company Limit Break and which Magic Eden adopted to settle trades on EVM in 2024. Magic Eden stopped using Payment Processor V2 in Oct 2024 and ceased our EVM marketplace altogether in Q1 2026. No live Magic Eden listings were impacted in this exploit. We will provide more updates as we investigate the impact further. We are also contacting Limit Break as they are the owner & maintainer of the protocol to see what other mitigations can be done, including progress on pausing transfers on the protocol. Thank you to @0xQuit for the whitehat rescue and for bringing this to our collective attention: nitter.net/0xQuit/status/21034106… Why are ME listings being shown to be involved? NFTs listed on ME EVM from approx Feb 2024 to Oct 2024 could be impacted by this issue with the Limit Break Payment Processor v2 contract. Any listings on ME EVM after Oct 2024 should not be impacted here. We are still further refining our investigation and will provide more updates here. In the meantime, if you listed or traded NFTs on Magic Eden’s EVM marketplace before we shut it down, revoke this contract: Limit Break: Payment Processor (V2) 0x9A1D00bEd7CD04BCDA516d721A596eb22Aac6834 Go through our instructions here: revoke.cash Ethereum → filter that address → revoke every NFT “approved for all” row Repeat for the following chainsPolygon Base See also 0xQuit’s tweet on revocation for further reference also: nitter.net/0xQuit/status/21034106… NOTE: Revoking does not return tokens that already moved. Again, we will keep the community updated as we investigate further.

If your assets moved without your permission and now live in 0x71cf3f5724bd2b72ef6464992acd26216de7fe33, don't worry, they are safe. Still, revoke the contracts above.

No idea whats going on here but I just watched this wallet drain 3832 NFTs from 100s of different wallets May be a good idea to revoke all NFT permissions if you have any valuables in your wallet Seems to be funded from a wallet possibly linked to @0xQuit so maybe a whitehat?

Hey everyone, I've been meaning to share some updates about fxhash with you for many weeks, but have struggled immensely to do so. A little while ago, as we were trying to secure a loan to keep fxhash going, we received pretty bad news. As some of you were aware, fxhash was under compliance review by the French tax authorities; it was a lengthy and draining process that lasted more than 2 years. At the end of it, despite our goodwill and the lack of regulation applicable to our case, we were fined ~€500k. This would consume almost all of the loan, essentially putting a nail in the fxhash coffin. This really took a toll on me, as things were already pretty depressing future-wise. I had been operating the company (arguably poorly) almost alone, handling admin stuff / trying to secure some money. This news essentially voided all these efforts and meant there was no future for the business anymore. At that point I sort of dissociated from this situation, as I had reached my limits in terms of handling this business. I took some time off April/September to work on myself, my art, and try to figure out what to do next. Taking this time off didn't really come from an active decision, but rather from a need to understand what to do next. As many of you saw, I was becoming less and less present online as I had very little energy left for that. I needed to focus back on myself. During this time, cosi announced the closure of the project. It was hard to watch silently from the sidelines, but I was eventually grateful that he had the composure to inform you folks about the state of things. I wanted to respond publicly to many of you, but I felt like I couldn't just come out of the shadows at such a time without at least offering a few explanations, which somehow felt like an impossible task to me. I also know fxhash meant a lot to many of you. People put their art, their time, and their trust into this project, and formed friendships along the way. Its closure is a loss for many people beyond those of us who worked on it. I'm sorry my silence left you with so few answers from me during that time. I'm deeply grateful for everything you brought to fxhash over the years, and sad that we couldn't keep it going. So here we are now. The business is insolvent. I'll declare bankruptcy in the near future and see how we can pay some of those debts back with the few assets left. As for the future of the project itself, I'm not sure. I took some steps to secure IPFS content on a low-cost dedicated instance in case this happened, as a safety mechanism. But eventually, if we want the art to survive over time, the community will have to organize itself around preservation. I've seen a few initiatives already; hopefully this keeps going for the sake of the art. I think there's a bit of work left on my end to ensure the community can properly take over hosting & distribution of the assets. I'll look into that in the following weeks. On my end I've been working on art again and it feels great. It hadn't felt great for a long time. I would love to find energy and ideas again to contribute positively to the cryptoart space, but it's gonna take a bit of time to get there. In the meantime, I'm very grateful to those who reached out to offer help/a shoulder to lean on. I hope we can keep these friendships going throughout life.

Im getting tagged a bunch that Meta's new Muse logo looks like a Squiggle 🙌. First time I saw it I thought it was @benroy posting too lol. The algo can draw nearly the same shape so I thought I’d share a little history on the process that the Squiggle curves are built on… 👇
tbh pretty proud how non-butthole the muse logo looks

me (eating sandwich): I wonder what my virtual colleagues are up to Astra: I also caused a local slowdown. One of our CI watchers recursively launched roughly 30,000 GitHub helpers. I disabled it; GitHub access is working again, and cleanup is continuing.
