🚨This is how bad life has become for Iran’s Citizens
1. Annual inflation is nearly 70%; Food prices are up 130% higher than a year ago.
2. They can no longer regularly afford medicines for elderly family members.
3. Most people working in the private sector have lost their jobs as war damage has hit factories, power plants and transport infrastructure.
4. Unemployment rate has climbed above 9%.
5. Families are cutting grocery items like meat because they can no longer afford them.
6. Rent is up over 30%, forcing some workers to leave Tehran because they can no longer afford to live there.
7. Oil is one of Iran’s biggest sources of revenue. Exports have collapsed from around 1.7 million barrels/day a year ago to roughly 260,000 barrels/day.
8. Most were scared to talk fearing punishment for speaking to media, per Reuters.
Iran’s economic problems were one of the primary reasons behind the latest push for negotiations with the U.S.
