Modern warfare takes a hell of a lot more than door-kickers and trigger-pullers. Logistics, intelligence, engineering, maintenance, deterrence, C2 , all of it matters.
I was a submarine officer. I eventually commanded an SSBN and later a submarine squadron. I wasn’t kicking doors, but I’d argue nuclear deterrence was still a fairly important contribution to national defense.
Different officers bring different experience and skills to the fight. That’s kind of the point of a joint force.
And yes, I’ll be interested to hear what you have to say to Congress about your own role as a special government employee. In terms of popcorn selection should I go with Orville Redenbacher, or Jolly Time? Let me know.

“Lincoln” was a curse word in my great-grandmother's house.
My father, born in 1953, has told me this many times. She spoke bitterly about what her own mother and father suffered "at the hands of those damned Yankees." Her parents lived through reconstruction and her grandparents lived through the Union occupation of Alexandria, Virginia, a city that tallied 2 total votes for Lincoln in 1860.
That is why the feeling survives in Southern families. It was never really about a dead president. It was a daughter's loyalty to her parents and grandparents, handed to a grandson who still remembers how she said the name.
My father never saw the war. He saw his grandmother's face when she spoke of the man who sent an army into her parents' town. He remembered her. He told me. The Civil War is distant history. Our father’s voices are not.

It is important for the US to produce as much of its own food as possible and to be able to produce it cheaply. And the easiest way to do that is to important cheap immigrant labor. Just charge like $10k for a visa for anyone from central and South America who wants to do the job

The reality here, is that she’s essentially saying that most Americans don’t want to work for minimum wage, on a farm, without housing/accommodation. We can mock her, but farmers need to truly think about how sustainable their system is without cheap labor. 1/3

The other reason I speak like a politician, is that I am on the autism spectrum. How far I’m not too sure, but it’s not far. I’m functional. However I have been told I do sometimes miss social cues.
The reason I speak like such a politician, trying to get Americans to see the positive and work together etc, is because I truly believe in America, and in what the country stands for. I don’t want to see it torn apart by foreign forces, or internal ones. If that’s bad 🤷♂️
