In preparation for the Nor’easter, I’m declaring a State of Emergency for Atlantic, Burlington, Cape May, Cumberland, Middlesex, Monmouth, Ocean, and Salem counties – effective at 5:00 PM today.
Starting tonight, the storm is expected to bring strong winds, heavy rain, and significant coastal flooding, with these eight counties facing the greatest risk.
I urge all New Jerseyans to take this storm seriously, stay alert, and follow local guidance. We’re prepared and will keep you updated as conditions develop.

The Trump administration diverted $12 million from the Office of Minority Health, which works to decrease Black mortality rates, in order to increase security for RFK Jr. as he travels the country ahead of the midterms.

Pete Hegseth has misled the American people on the cost of the war, the conditions of service members at sea, and how much of the military’s resources have been drained. He and the Trump administration have no track record for honesty, but a long record of incompetence.
The fact that Hegseth would cover up the number of service members we've lost in Trump's war on Iran is abhorrent, yet unsurprising. It is no secret that this war is a failure. It makes GOP Speaker Johnson’s cancelation of votes to avoid a vote on impeaching Hegseth even more dubious.
The American people want accountability and deserve the truth. These are the actions of an authoritarian government, and this is the most shameless collection of individuals we've had lead this country in my lifetime.

Funding decisions are supposed to be made by experts based on scientific merit and the likelihood of outcomes that could save lives and reduce suffering.

38 days ago, my constituent Edwin Lopez Cornejo died while in ICE custody at Delaney Hall Detention Center in Newark, New Jersey. Soon after, I, along with some of my Democratic colleagues from New Jersey, sent a letter to DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin demanding answers regarding his death and the medical neglect of Amro Sehaim, another detainee at Delaney Hall. Sec. Mullin has failed to respond or take any action as required by law.
ICE refuses to prioritize safety and uphold the law. Instead they are terrorizing communities in an effort to meet arbitrary deportation quotas. The result has been dangerous actions by agents (many of them unvetted and untrained), substandard conditions, and disrupted communities.
Our nation needs the comprehensive immigration reform that has been blocked by extremists in the Republican Party for decades.
