I’ve been against Trump’s arch from the start. Now, his own National Park Service is even admitting the harm this thing will cause. Do you know how we could avoid this harm? Don’t build the stupid thing. Trump has already left his gaudy mark on Washington. I won’t stand by while he tries to make his ego a permanent fixture of its historic landscape.

We should be investing in projects that strengthen our grid, lower costs, and deliver more power – not shoveling out $4 billion in taxpayer dollars to shut them down.  Slashing offshore wind is a lose-lose for energy resilience and our economy. We are standing strong against Trump’s war on clean energy and saying YES to a better path forward: offshore wind that puts more power on the grid, lowers costs, and helps meet our growing energy needs.

Public lands belong to all Americans, and all Americans deserve to have a say in development that would affect our lands, waters, and access to public resources. The Trump administration doesn’t get to cut secret deals over public lands and shut out the public and Congress. Trump is grasping at straws to make this arch happen – but each plan is dumber than the last.  The FAA already had to account for putting a 250-foot arch in the middle of flight paths. Now Trump wants to call it a “military complex” and launch drones from it, station snipers on top, and store ammunition inside. Free press isn’t a privilege Trump gets to revoke when his feelings get hurt. It’s a cornerstone of our democracy and part of how we hold those in power accountable.    These reputable, committed journalists work hard to make sure Americans get the truth. House Natural Resources Committee Ranking Member @JaredHuffman talks with @LACaldwellDC about congressional oversight of President Trump under a possible Democratic majority in 2027: “I really worry about our country if we ever get to the point where we say… accountability no longer matters. This is ridiculous, apparently Democrats are the only ones who want to actually show up and do our jobs. The American people sent us here to work. They deserve a Congress that properly functions, not this MAGA clown show.

The clock is ticking, Trump. Trump and his puppet Lee Zeldin have a vision for the EPA that is entirely backwards: big polluters come first, and Americans pay the price. I know science is hard for these guys, so let’s put this more simply: gutting science-based standards so giant power plants can pump more climate pollution means more extreme weather, dirtier air, and more of us footing the bill.

This administration is completely out of touch with Americans. While groceries and rent are through the roof, they’re racing to build Trump’s tacky gilded arch that will desecrate our nation’s most sacred ground. 

The arch is a ridiculous, rushed, and poorly planned monstrosity that disrespects our veterans and will disrupt flights and the people who live here. I’ve been fighting against this with my Democratic colleagues since the start, meanwhile Republicans have stepped aside to let Trump and his lackey Burgum plow ahead. But it will be a different story next year when they have to face a Democratic Congress that will do some real oversight into this lawless admin.
