I was proud to join the Fresno Area Hispanic Foundation and the City of Fresno for the opening ceremony of Fiestas Patrias in celebration of Mexican Independence Day.
The rich culture and traditions of Mexico are deeply woven into the fabric of our Valley and have helped shape our communities for generations.
It was wonderful to come together with families and community leaders to celebrate the heritage and traditions that continue to enrich the Valley.

California farmers, including those in the San Joaquin Valley, are being hit with more than $2,000 in additional fuel costs.
It’s outrageous. Our farmers work every day to feed America, and they should not be forced to shoulder even higher costs just to keep their farms running.

Over the weekend, I had the opportunity to celebrate Hellwig Products’ 80th anniversary in Visalia
Founded in 1946, Hellwig Products remains a fourth-generation, family-owned business that proudly manufactures its products right here in the Central Valley.
For eight decades, Hellwig has supported American manufacturing, created local jobs, and remained an important part of the Visalia community. Congratulations on 80 years!

I am deeply saddened by the tragic loss of two helicopter crew members who lost their lives while battling the Dome Fire in Yosemite National Park.
These brave individuals put their lives on the line to protect our communities and public lands. We must never forget the courage and sacrifice of the men and women who serve on the front lines of our wildfires.
My thoughts and prayers are with their families and loved ones during this difficult time.

Our Service Academies prepare the next generation of leaders through a rigorous education built on discipline, leadership, and service to our country.
Applicants are considered based on their academic achievements, community involvement, leadership abilities, and overall character.

This week, I met with the Family Farm Alliance to discuss the challenges facing farmers in the San Joaquin Valley and across the West.
We discussed modernizing environmental laws, addressing ongoing drought and water challenges, strengthening the Farm Bill, and protecting our nation’s food security.
A strong agricultural future in the Valley and the West means a stronger, more secure food supply for our entire country.

The First Amendment is clear: freedom of speech and freedom of the press are fundamental rights that are strongly stated in our Constitution and must be protected. This is yet another attempt by this Administration to undermine those freedoms and silence a free press.

The bottom line is: Tariffs are a tax on American consumers and producers.
The chaotic way tariffs and trade policies have been carried out has hurt our family farmers, ranchers, and dairy men and woman, raising costs and creating uncertainty for their operations.

Public lands should remain in public hands.
That’s why I’m co-leading a bipartisan, bicameral effort to oppose the proposed transfer of federal land within Yosemite National Park for private access.
Yosemite is a national treasure. We must protect it and ensure its public lands remain accessible to the American people for generations to come.
