We were able to hear from the Benedictine Sisters about the values of care of the earth that led to one of the most ‘green’ buildings in the country as well as restored prairie, savanna areas, and nature trails throughout the 130 acres of land.

Today I'm reminded of my visit to Westport Prairie with @RepJoers this time last year to learn more about restoration efforts at the historic Empire Prairie. Wisconsin’s natural beauty is worth protecting, and we must continue investing in conservation efforts across our state.

It shouldn't have taken this long but with one final collective effort we got it done. Now the work continues until WI is the healthiest state in the nation and no one goes bankrupt or goes without health care because of cost. This is what making life a little better looks like.

I was proud to sign onto this letter urging Republican leadership to bring Gail’s Law (AB 263 / SB 264) to the Assembly floor for a vote. No one should have to skip lifesaving breast cancer screenings because of cost. This bipartisan bill deserves a vote.
