A recap of my week here in DC!

We are in a primary care crisis. If we don’t act now to save small physician practices, stand up to corporate entities, and fight for patient care – access is going to get worse for all Americans. I am proud that my bipartisan Patients First Act will address commonsense healthcare solutions to stand up for independent practices and invest in primary care.

I had a heartfelt meeting with Ukrainian constituents today and reaffirmed my steadfast support for Ukraine amid dangerous Russian aggression. Make no mistake, my stance has not changed on this important issue. The Lindsey O. Graham Sanctioning Russia and Iran Act we voted on today is riddled with loopholes, and we have seen time and time again that Trump is unwilling to take a stand against Russia. He has a long track record of siding with Putin in this conflict, and I have no reason to believe he will change that now. He will use loopholes to both avoid sanctions and to abuse the tariff powers granted to him in this bill. Ceding tariff authority to the executive branch also sets a dangerous precedent, particularly with a president with a track record of usurping Congress’ authority. That is exactly why I voted against this legislation.

Speaker Johnson: Do NOT send the House home until AI guardrails are immediately addressed. Americans expect Congress to take action on this existential threat now, and my colleagues and I are ready to stay to get the job done.

This is a huge win for Washingtonians and all Americans. Washington’s mail-in voting system is safe, secure, and is especially important to my rural constituents who live far away from in-person voting options. The cost of everything from gas to groceries to healthcare is way too high, and President Trump and Congressional Republicans are doing nothing to help Americans afford everyday life. Instead of trying to lower prices, President Trump is focused on his vanity projects, escalating a war in Iran, and ripping away healthcare for millions through the Big Ugly Bill. You deserve better. I'll keep fighting to lower costs for you.
