In the last two years, we’ve seen corruption from this Administration on a scale never before seen in this country. My Republican colleagues have refused to hold this Administration accountable, even if behind closed doors they are appalled by what they are seeing. It’s long past time for them to join Democrats in demanding answers and conducting real oversight.

Another terrible Supreme Court decision. With less than 40 days until the midterms, the court just let the Trump administration's overhauled SAVE database back into use for checking voter rolls. In June, a federal judge ruled this system unlawful, finding the administration combined private data it knew to be unreliable and that some states had already removed U.S. citizens from their rolls based on bad information. SAVE was created 40 years ago to check eligibility for public benefits. Repurposing it to screen voters, errors and all, puts eligible citizens at risk of losing their voice. And while states can technically opt out, the administration has reportedly tried to pressure them by tying federal security funding to it. Federal law bars mass purges this close to an election. The legal fight continues. I'll keep fighting to make sure every eligible American can cast a ballot and have it counted.

The entire world is screaming about AI, and Trump’s doing what? He and his sons are investing in AI companies and data centers. His own investment accounts have bought shares in companies powering the AI boom. And he is the one making decisions that could affect what those investments are worth. JD Vance says the Administration is removing 760,000 people who are enrolled in Affordable Care Act coverage to fight fraud. If this Administration has real evidence of fraud, by all means, prosecute every last one of these brokers who committed it. But explain this to me: Trump pardoned a man convicted of health care fraud. He commuted the sentence of another who orchestrated a $205 million Medicare fraud scheme. This may be felony criminal theft and conversion of government property for political campaign purposes. 18 U.S.C. § 1641. It is a Hatch Act violation for any government employees who worked on it or used government resources to make it. It is blatantly unethical under numerous federal ethics provisions proscribing the use of government resources for political campaigns.

These latest admissions by Acting Secretary of the Navy Cao that eight sailors assigned to the USS Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group attempted suicide during this deployment are deeply troubling. My heart is with these sailors, their families, and every service member who has endured the extraordinary strain of this prolonged deployment. For months, I have been raising concerns about the conditions aboard the USS Lincoln, including inadequate living conditions, insufficient mental health support, and the overall toll this extended deployment has taken on our service members and their families. These latest revelations underscore the urgent need for answers and accountability. That is why I led a letter to Secretary Hegseth and Acting Secretary of the Navy Cao demanding answers about the conditions aboard the USS Lincoln. I also joined my San Diego colleagues in calling for an independent investigation by the Department of Defense Inspector General. We need to understand how conditions deteriorated to this point, whether our service members received the care and support they needed, and what steps the Navy is taking to ensure this never happens again. Secretary Hegseth and Acting Secretary Cao have yet to respond to either letter. Our Marines and Sailors have sacrificed so much in service to our country. We owe them more than our gratitude. Climate change does not stop at our borders, and neither can our response. I appreciated the opportunity to meet with UN Secretary-General António Guterres this week to talk about climate action, clean energy, and how Congress can help sustain American leadership abroad. The challenges we face are global, and our leadership should be too. There is simply too much at stake for America to sit back while the rest of the world decides what comes next.

Mr. President: The free press doesn’t exist to flatter you. It exists to hold you accountable. If you were really as strong as you think you are, you wouldn’t be so afraid of the big bad press and their questions. Strong leaders answer tough questions. Cowards ban the reporters asking them. The American people have a right to know what’s going on within the walls of the White House.

Donald Trump said he was going to end the war in Ukraine in 24 hours.     He’s had 20 months and it’s gotten worse, not better.
