This may be felony criminal theft and conversion of government property for political campaign purposes. 18 U.S.C. § 1641. It is a Hatch Act violation for any government employees who worked on it or used government resources to make it. It is blatantly unethical under numerous federal ethics provisions proscribing the use of government resources for political campaigns.

237 years ago today, a supermajority of the House and Senate approved the First Amendment. As President Trump bans journalists from the White House, rolls out the red carpet for Communist dictator Xi Jinping, spends tax dollars on bad partisan propaganda, and praises the controlled, obedient press in China, let’s get back to constitutional basics in America, starting with our First Amendment. No political censorship, no government political propaganda.

Today’s shadow docket Supreme Court decision allowing DHS and Social Security to build a mega database is a bad ruling. But even the Court's MAGA supermajority was clear that it does not give Donald Trump the ability to conduct sweeping voter purges ahead of the 2026 election. Federal law prohibits systematic voter-roll purges within 90 days of an election.   Don’t let Trump’s kitchen-sink voter suppression campaign intimidate you. Check your registration, vote early if you can and make sure your vote is counted. Vigilance will get us all through.

Yes, Donald Trump—to you and your fellow autocrats, China has the “friendliest” press corps in the world! The World Press Freedom Index ranks China 178th out of 180 countries, close to dead-last. The Communist Party of China controls all major media entities in China to assure total ideological alignment with the CCP. Trump oddly calls lots of people Communist, but he’s the one censoring the press, claiming large chunks of American companies, and constantly praising Xi, Kim Jong Un and Vladimir Putin, the former chief of the KGB. Is Trump a Communist?

Human rights must be the driving force of America's foreign policy. At their White House meeting, will President Trump raise Chinese human rights violations against Tibetans, Uyghurs and the people of Hong Kong with President Xi or will Trump remain silent on the oppression that's taking place in China? Will this just be two lawless autocrats looking out for the oligarchs and dictators?

Tomorrow, the U.S.-China summit begins at the White House. During the meeting, President Trump must urge President Xi to abandon the dystopian Ethnic Unity and Progress Law, meant to repress ethnic minorities and silence critics across the globe. At stake is sovereignty and basic human rights everywhere.

His response to bad news about his catastrophic wars, tariffs, debt and corruption is to expel media from the White House. Everyone who wants to preserve constitutional democracy must denounce the assault on MS NOW, CNN and Politico. The free press is not the enemy of the people, but the people's best friend.

The more Trump’s spiraling economic, military and corruption crises submerge his administration, the less he wants Americans to get real news from real reporters. 
 
Not only is Trump banishing journalists from the White House, but the billionaire oligarchs in his camp are gobbling up media institutions. 

The Ellisons, mega-donors who turned CBS News into a MAGA mouthpiece, are now one bite closer to swallowing up CNN and building a movie, TV, and streaming behemoth. 
 
Trump wants a fawning, controlled press like Putin has in Russia. His billionaire backers want windfall profits from market domination. 

And all the people get is higher prices, union-busting, and MAGA propaganda telling us that the catastrophic Iran War and affordability are a “Democrat hoax.”

The Supreme Court shut down President Trump's mail-in voting scheme because the federal government plainly has no role in administering elections. We feel grateful when the Supreme Court enforces the Constitution but that is, after all, their job. There’s a constant judicial undertow as MAGA justices try to undermine our laws and override our Constitution to serve Trump.

In America, we have no kings, no dictators, no despots, no nobles, no slaves, no serfs, no subjects. Just "We the People." We are not one race, one ethnicity, one religion or one party. But we have one Constitution and one Bill of Rights. Happy Constitution Day, everybody!
