For those struggling mentally or physically!👇
The cost is zero, time/effort investment small, but the return is huge! Give the Green Barrett Fit challenge a try, commit to 2 weeks, but I’m sure you’ll keep going when you see the gains.
My Experience with it:
I had to modify the exercises for jumping jacks and sit-ups to squats and crunches but plan to switch back soon.
Day 1
20 squats (with arm raises at the top).
30 crunches ( 2 sets of 20 & 10)
30 pushups (3 sets 15, 10, & 5)
Total time 47 minutes.
Today (2 weeks later)
60 arm-raise-squats (2 sets of 30)
100 crunches straight through
75 pushups (4 sets 30, 20, 15, 10)
Total time 23 minutes.
While my numbers have gone up, total time has gone down. No equipment, no memberships, done in my living room first thing.
Background
Started lifting weights in grade 9.
Got on police department and worked out several hours a day; during lunch at the station, the gym after work, cardio at home before bed 6 days a week.
I used to be extremely fit, in my peak I passed the SWAT test (🇨🇦version).
I got PTSD and spent 3 years isolated in my home, sedentary, no social contact with the world. Gained tons of weight, lost flexibility, joints degraded, and lost most of my muscle mass.
I survived PTSD but didn’t survive Canadian police stigma-culture towards PTSD. Starting again is hard at my age and condition, but the first step to mental resilience is physical. It teaches you that you’re capable of more than you think.
Thank you
@RetiredYoungNW for sharing this, for making these videos and reminding me of who I am and what I’m capable of🫶🫡💙

Sit-ups: broke at 60.
Jumping jacks: all the way.
Still finished. Recovery starts. One more easy day, then back.
Where do you usually break on push-ups?
