The unemployment rate fell only because the labor force shrank; not because New Yorkers found jobs.
New York City added 3,900 private sector jobs so far in 2026, NYC's unemployment fell to 4.8% in August, the sixth consecutive monthly decline.

Hey NYC Department of Transportation Alternatives @NYC_DOT, why design a bike lane that puts cyclists directly in the path of so many turning cars? How does that make anyone safer?
Your actions have already cost New Yorkers their lives this year. How many more will it take for you to take safety seriously?
ICMYI: DOT is putting two-way bike lanes on the Queensboro Bridge Upper Level entrance on Skillman Ave.
Nearly 3200 vehicles/hour turn on/off to the bridge here for the only toll free route from Queens to Manhattan. This is going to be a right turn death trap.

BREAKING: Activists with Demilitarize Brooklyn Navy Yard have chained themselves outside the Brooklyn Navy Yard.
The campaign is targeting Crye Precision, a tactical-gear maker the Yard lists as fashion/textiles. Activists want it evicted over gear use.
Crye denies any contracts with the IDF or Israeli manufacturers.

NYC'S SPECIAL-EDUCATION DUE-PROCESS SYSTEM IS TAKING EVEN LONGER TO RESOLVE CASES UNDER SOCIALIST MAMDANI
The City's own Mayor's Management Report shows:
• Special-ed cases filed: DOWN 19%
• Average time to close a case: UP 22%, from 101.9 to 124.7 DAYS
• Cases closed per hearing officer per month: DOWN 15%
• Just 73% of cases closed within the regulatory timeframe
• City's target: 90%
These aren't paperwork disputes over parking tickets.
These are cases involving the rights and services of students with disabilities, including disputes over evaluations, educational placement, IEPs, therapies, accommodations, and whether children received an appropriate education.

ANOTHER DEMOCRATIC RUN MUNICIPALITY THAT HOCHUL BAILED OUT USING YOUR MONEY
It’s a good time to remember that Buffalo is facing severe fiscal stress: depleted reserves, a structural budget deficit, and a continued reliance on one-time and uncertain revenues to balance its budget.
The State Comptroller projected a roughly $103M structural deficit for FY 2026–27 and warned that $56.9M in planned revenues may not materialize.
In July, S&P downgraded Buffalo’s bond rating. Moody’s then shifted its outlook to Negative, citing declining reserves, structural imbalances, and reliance on one-time revenues.
Horrible Hochul stepped in with extraordinary assistance. Hochul initially proposed an additional $40M specifically for Buffalo; the final FY27 budget ultimately provided Buffalo with $70M in direct charitable aid.
Rep. @AOC is in Buffalo today as part of an upstate tour to help increase midterm voter turnout.
AOC met with @MayorSeanRyan who called her an inspirational leader. Ryan said he hopes she stays in public office, but would not say if WH or Senate should be next

A Brooklyn rabbi was brutally attacked and left bleeding outside of his home in Borough Park on Wednesday night.
The footage shows the moments police say a man walked up to the 66-year-old victim at around 9 p.m. on Dahill Road and began hitting and choking him, leaving him battered and bleeding.
The NYPD said officers rushed to the scene and a suspect was quickly taken into custody, charged with assault and harassment.
The victim's wife said her husband was rushed to the hospital, suffering from severe pain.
Police said it was a random attack and not a hate crime.
[In order for this to be considered a hate crime, the attacker would need to demonstrate intent, such as slurs or remarks referencing the victim's religion.]

Note the timeline: these thugs took over streets in the heart of Greenwich Village since "at least" 2020.
It was well-known to every neighborhood resident (of which I am one) that the vicinity of Washington Square Park was swarming with drug dealers.
The cops knew it too unless they had severe cataracts.
Why did it take SIX YEARS and the intervention of federal prosecutors and the DEA to put a stop to this horror? IF it has stopped?
How do we know that another bunch of thugs will take over these streets and that it will take ANOTHER six years to round them up?
We don't know, and the cops have been so hobbled by political interference that it is likely that Greenwich Village will remain the dope capital of the city.
