- Character sheets, props, and studio set created in GPT-Image-2.5
- Video generated using @runwayml (Seedance 2.5) Tool mode. I skipped agent mode for more control over the inputs and prompts.

@trymirage built an AI-native After Effects/Premiere replacement called Tesseract. You tell your agent what you want, it does the actual editing, and it renders locally. 🔥 (Tony Stark would be proud!)
It's free, has 250+ tools (keyframes, masks, adjustment layers, time remapping, compositions, sound), and they just added Linux support.
I think this leans into a bigger shift... where creative tools get leaner, with less clicking and less UI, and the agent does the work.

Although not a creative tool on its own, I have to mention Omarchy. The beautifully designed, super-fast Linux distro (built on Arch) by @dhh.
I've been testing v4 for about a month, and it's refreshingly fast with so much attention to detail. The main thing holding me back from switching full-time are my creative apps.
But at this pace, it feels like Omarchy could shake up the OS space soon by becoming a very attractive option for developers and creators looking for a faster, more personalized experience.

It took some time to classify all the films (each film can have up to two genres), but it's shaping up.

How it was made:
1) I started with style exploration in Midjourney 8.2 and landed on a late 70s/80s aesthetic that I liked.
2) I labeled the Midjourney images in Photoshop and created one character sheet with all the characters and some props (e.g. the computer)
3) I wrote a plot summary and basic script and expanded it into a Seedance 2.5 prompt using GPT Sol.
4) I used the Runway plugin inside ChatGPT to pass all the references and the script/prompt to Runway to generate the 30 second clip.

1. Sept 22, 2023: @CuriousRefuge builds "Can AI Make a Star Wars Film?" in a few hours as a demo for a Hollywood talk, with Midjourney stills, Pika motion, ElevenLabs voices and Wav2Lip lip sync.
2. Sept 23, 2023: @AIandDesign posts three Runway Gen-2 films: Euphoria, Disclosure and The Deoxyreibonucleic Hyperdimension. They all lean into Gen-2's melting drift.
3. Sept 25, 2023: the 148-day strike ends and the @WGAWest contract sets Hollywood's first enforceable AI rules: AI can't write literary material, and writers can't be required to use it.
4. Sept 19, 2024: @Kling_ai 1.5 adds Motion Brush (similar to Runway's Gen-2 motion brush in Nov 2023), letting creators paint motion instead of prompting.
5. Sept 18, 2025: @LumaLabsAI releases Ray3, billed as the first "reasoning" video model, with native 16-bit HDR output in ACES EXR.

I just pushed some new updates to the AI Film History project. A big thank you to everyone who submitted films last week using the new tools. 🙏
The new design/architecture is holding up well.
The major updates:
1) New global search in the navbar that searches across the timeline, artists, films, and works. You can find anything from anywhere now.
2) I redesigned the workflows to be more visual, with more links to example videos, X posts, and tutorials. I'm not 100% happy yet and have some more updates planned. It's been harder than I thought.
3) A lot of new artists and films added. It's so hard to keep up. The 4th quarter of 2026 is going to be a real turning point for AI filmmaking.

One of those small changes that will help a lot of people. It took a while, but it's great to see this convergence on a standard.
We're adding support for AGENTS.md to Claude Code.
Starting today in version 2.1.277, if there is no CLAUDE.md in a folder, Claude will check for and use AGENTS.md.
You can toggle this behavior in /config.
