Fiercely Libertarian. Freedom, Peace and Prosperity

Not even sales tax. We’ve got so much natural resource. Government can make revenue from that for basic services.
Pro-tax people are idiots. All of them. And I will die on this hill. They are slaves to the state who moan, “Govern me harder, daddy.” I’m fine with a one-time sales tax at the point of purchase. That’s it. That’s all we need to fund the most basic functions of the government. Every other tax we pay is unnecessary and if it means that revenue falls short of meeting the budget, the budget is bloated and should be cut. Just like at the federal level, there is plenty to eliminate, consolidate, or trim within state and local governments.

Heartbreaking 💔 Copenhagen climate politicians push elderly in retirement homes onto minimal meat to cut CO₂ Birthday wishes for beef are sometimes rejected “for the CO₂ accounts” Residents pay for the food but often get organic vegetarian instead of what they want archive.ph/wo9OV Guidelines (p.45): max 500g meat/week, max 80g beef/veal/lamb (~one kid’s burger/week) maaltider.kk.dk/sites/defaul…

I don't know if you realize what just happened. Elon Musk is completely bypassing the State. For 100 years, we've been told the problem is capital. That it must be captured, taxed, redistributed. With an army of intermediaries standing between those who create wealth and the people: ministries, agencies, commissions, bureaucrats. Musk is doing the opposite. He's taking his capital and giving it directly to the people. One SpaceX share to every kid in America. Not a handout. Not a subsidy. A piece of the machine that's taking humanity to Mars. And he says it himself: this is the first of many. Mises understood this back in 1944: the bureaucrat creates nothing. He administers what others created, following rules that have no connection to the value produced. The day value flows directly from the one who creates it to the one who receives it, the bureaucrat has no function left. That's what's being born right now. A new liberal world order, where the very concept of the State will make less and less sense. The world we're entering is a world of abundance. AI, robots, energy, space. And that abundance won't come through the State, for one simple reason: we have a century of proof that it doesn't work. Redistribution was version 1.0. Direct distribution of capital is 2.0. While France is still debating how to tax builders even more, America is handing stock to its kids. Pick your side.
Next year, I will give one of my SpaceX shares to every kid in America. This will be the first of many.

Channel 7 replayed the bit. 😂
Pauline Hanson's political cartoons have landed her in yet more controversy tonight. The latest has been widely criticised for callously mocking Jacqui Lambie's health issues. But the One Nation leader says she won't apologise.

You can be globally compassionate as a person and still feel that your society should have careful borders and that local cultures matter, and should be preserved if they're clearly doing well. These actually aren't in contradiction.

New home sales fell by 17.5% for the Sept QTR against last year. Weak market sentiment prevails due to rising rates, economic uncertainty and the budget. An uptick in cancellation rates of already sold new homes is likely due to customers struggling to get final finance approval.

A NEW VISION FOR PAKENHAM The first stage of the Deep Creek Reserve Revitalisation Project proposal looks at how the underutilised land surrounding the existing golf course could be put to better use while retaining and enhancing valuable local amenities. Plans for the southern end include a retirement village with convenient access to Pakenham East train station, providing residents with transport connections to hospitals, services and the wider community. The proposal also explores opportunities to increase floodwater storage capacity in the wetlands, protect native vegetation and introduce measures to support endangered species. With careful planning, this project could create new housing options for older residents while improving environmental protection and making better use of existing land. A vision for the future that puts community needs, environmental protection and practical planning at the centre. This is exactly the solution oriented approach that One Nation seeks to bring to Government. Delivering outcomes for the community by collaborating with local organisations without weighing heavily on the taxpayers.

Labor is already planning to introduce an inheritance tax, if they can import enough voters to secure a third term. Once an inheritance tax is established, it will never be erased. It will only ever increase, and governments will refer to any minor exemptions as a “discount”.

I know you said "Supposing one of the parties listed has already been preferenced." But I'm voting libertarian 1 (I know they're not on the list but it's an important distinction for me), One Nation 2, and Liberal third from that list.

The strongest bail laws in the country means automatic jail for offenders who commit a serious crime on bail.

Nice dose of reality.
"I don't want flying cars. I want raw nature and real human connection." Brother… YOU are CURRENTLY SELLING $50 worth of protein bars that were not foraged, not hunted, and not hand-pressed by a village elder at dawn but manufactured in a FACILITY on a production line powered by the electrical grid, sealed in plastic made from petroleum pumped out of the earth by giant drills, boxed, labeled, barcoded, and scanned into an inventory system running on servers cooled by industrial AC units humming 24/7, then loaded onto a DIESEL TRUCK that hauls them down an interstate bulldozed straight through the exact wilderness you want to get lost in (you will not get lost, there is a Buc-ee's), dumped into a sorting hub full of conveyor belts and robotic arms and lasers, thrown onto ANOTHER truck, handed to a mail carrier idling in a van in a cul-de-sac, and dropped on a porch in a cardboard box that gets ripped open in four seconds and tossed in the recycling, all so someone can eat a bar they bought on a phone with a credit card processed in 0.3 seconds by a bank mainframe and then YOU logged on to tell the rest of us technology doesn't make anyone happy, when it's clearly making YOU very happy, and the second someone figures out drone delivery you'll be first in line with your logo on the propellers, so no, you're not a troglodyte, because troglodytes never offered free shipping on orders over $75.

Libertarians are always right
This is the problem. Well meaning platitudes that just amount to more debt. What we need is harsh medicine and slashing government spending, not more taxpayer funds for problems that need to be solved by families. Teaching young people values is for parents, not government.

Why is there a minister for sport? Why does sport need to be regulated by the government? People create sports clubs. Sports clubs create sports leagues. Sports leagues create competitions. What does the government have to do with it? Why are they involving themselves?
Minister @AnikaWells made the case for preventing harm to women online. But her answer to us on sport left unclear how clubs can provide lawful female-only sport under @ausport guidance. Women’s protection must be consistent across portfolios @MRowlandMP @SenKatyG
