Convergence Fest PT2: PSAs/warnings:
-don’t take strangers to your hotel room. have seen multiple incidents when I use to work front desk at one of the big hotels
-human trafficking is a VERY real. Don’t be afraid to go out & have fun but just be aware, even at the nice clubs/hotels. Go together, leave together (especially the ladies) 👍🏼
-there are parts of Vegas I’d avoid. Personally recommend staying west of The Strip. A local joke is “if the stratosphere/big ball is on your right, ur in the wrong part of town”.
-Fremont street/downtown can be fun it but doesn’t have the security the main strip has. Don’t go alone. Keep an eye on your stuff.
Overall, Vegas is fun & safe! Just be smart & don’t put yourself in dangerous situations. Chances of anything happening are VERY low but def not zero. Keep yourselves safe ✌🏼
Few Convergence Fest tips from a local:
-stay at a hotel if you can! Avoid the small motels/travel inns bc some are very seedy & can be dangerous
-Ubers to The Strip can rack up. Keep in mind when booking your stay. There is a monorail that goes DIRECTLY to the convention center from some of the hotels
-buy cases of water/food and leave them in your room to bring around. On the Strip, it’s Disneyland prices for everything. Don’t pay $15 for a water 💀
-The Strip is right next to Chinatown. Really good food + not too expensive. Highly recommend 👍🏼
