Informed by his experiences at Newsnight alongside other prestige shows, his major investigation reveals how the BBC took a side in the culture wars.
He draws on extensive interviews with current and former staff — including journalists at the very top.
Speaking out for the first time since leaving the Corporation, Fran Unsworth, the former director of BBC News, reveals in an explosive interview: “I would actually say it drove me out, just dealing with the progressive editorial issues and the bullying around them all. It was incredibly difficult.”

Well said Prime Minister. Everyone I have ever met at @ManCity over years has been resolute about these charges. IF the club is guilty and is found to be so we will all still support the club we supported before the purchase.... today has been a hard day for City partly as the leak has been calculated to make it so. The silence from Etihad and PL may be far more significant than the leak. I hear no sign of panic in Manchester.

I've now read a number of high-flying football analysts saying "no, you naive ones, it wasn't TT's subs, the team had already gone into a defensive shell straight after the goal, remember the first substitution wasn't until 72 mins" - which is true.
But:
a. the team are meant to play the way the manager tells them, and if they're not it's his job to make them do so
and
b. putting on a defender for an attacker at 72 mins just confirms, in the minds of the players, that what they need to do is defend not attack.

Some saying that 🏴 started to sit deep before Tuchel made the subs. That doesn’t make them any more excusable. It cemented the problem, others say 🇦🇷 just had better players. If so it wasn’t evident as we weathered the fouls and then scored.
I was ready to believe the hype about Tuchel but I’ve never seem a more needless and cowardly surrender when wining 1-0 in the second biggest fixture in world football. Total surrender, give messi half an hour to cross the ball in. Suicidal. The coach let the players down.

Far too defensive, far too early from Thomas Tuchel against a team not just with quality, but who have repeatedly shown they refuse to be beaten. You don’t encourage Leo Messi’s Argentina, you don’t feed their fighting spirit.

The idea behind appointing a tactician like Tuchel was to break England’s long-standing tournament habits of both panicking when in front in big games and simply hoofing it from the goalkeeper when trailing. He has managed neither - this is every England team I’ve ever watched.

Tuchel met the players down. He should be fired.
Thomas Tuchel's coaching has cost England a chance at winning the World Cup. What a cowardly coaching performance. Can't complain about corruption or favouritism when the reality is it was pathetic, negative choices that invited all this pressure. Parked the bus & paid the price.
