Start with a monopoly. Now add a genuinely free market. How does that monopoly keep overcharging when competitors are free and eagerto steal its customers with lower prices or better products?
Usually, it doesn’t.
So how does it protect itself? Get government favors, erect regulatory barriers, restrict competitors, or outlaw them altogether.
And once you’ve done that, you haven’t demonstrated the failure of the free market. You’ve demonstrated why the monopoly needed protection from it.
Simple stuff.

Some of them took part in the Oct 7 attacks and several have been hailed as “martyrs” by their terrorist organisations.

If you judged socialism by the outcomes it produces rather than the promises socialists make, you could mistake it for an ideology that hates humanity rather than one claiming to help it.
What amazes me is how little repeated failure seems to matter. The promise fails, the consequences arrive, and somehow the lesson is always the same: double down.
At some point, “we meant well” stops being an argument. If the same means repeatedly produce the opposite of your stated ends, reason demands that you question the means, not demand more of them.

This is almost a checklist of government creating or worsening a problem, then demanding more power as the cure.
Healthcare too expensive? Nationalize the financing.
Housing too expensive? Tax more people to have government build it.
Wages too low? Outlaw jobs below an arbitrary price.
College too expensive? Make taxpayers pay the bill and call it “free.”
Energy expensive? Restrict reliable energy while subsidizing the politically preferred alternatives.
Technology advancing too quickly? Put politicians in charge of deciding how far human innovation is allowed to advance.
Government spends too much? Don’t shrink government, just find richer people to bill.
Campaign finance is corrupt? Somehow the politicians regulating political speech will fix politics.
And after demanding vastly more government control over healthcare, wages, housing, education, energy, technology and capital, Bernie calls the problem “the establishment.”
Bernie, you’ve been in Congress since 1991. You are the establishment.
This isn't an escape from failed government. It's a demand to put government in charge of even more things and hope that this time the people who helped create the problems will finally become competent enough to centrally manage the solutions.

Donald Trump is the most dangerous president in American history and Democrats must do everything possible to roll back his disastrous policies.
But running against Trump is not enough. The American people are hurting and they want to see a pro-working class agenda that will provide meaningful improvements to their lives. Democrats must have the courage to take on Oligarchy, corporate greed and a corrupt campaign finance system. No more incrementalism, no more same-old, same-old failed establishment policies that simply make the rich even richer.
Democrats must restore faith in democracy and the belief that government can work for working families and not just the billionaire class. Our job is to expand our progressive grassroots movement so that when Democrats regain power they must:
✅ Pass Medicare for All and guarantee health care to every person in our country as a human right.
✅ Increase the minimum wage to $20 an hour and pass legislation making it easier for workers to join unions.
✅ Raise taxes on the billionaire class and large profitable corporations.
✅ Lower housing costs by building 7 million units of low income and affordable housing.
✅ Provide free tuition at public colleges and universities.
✅ Get billionaire funded super PACs out of elections.
✅ Create millions of jobs by moving our energy system away from fossil fuels to energy efficiency and sustainable energy.
✅ Protect the American people from the existential and economic threats of AI.
✅ Cut military spending, end “endless wars,” and stop all U.S. military aid to Israel.

Let me introduce you to Mahboubeh Shabani, a 33-year-old woman from Mashhad received death sentence.
During the January uprising, when protesters were shot and wounded in the streets, Mahboubeh used her motorcycle to take injured people to hospitals.
For this, she was arrested, beaten, held in solitary confinement and imprisoned in Vakilabad Prison.
Now Sepideh Gholian, who was imprisoned with her, says Branch 1 of the Revolutionary Court in Mashhad has sentenced Mahboubeh to death.
Her crime? Helping the wounded.
We still have time to act before another life is taken.

Did you know that Egypt controlled Gaza from 1948 until 1967, but didn’t turn it into a State called Palestine? Israel hoped to return Gaza to Egypt as part of the Sinai Peace Accords, but Egypt was uninterested in taking responsibility for the Gazans.
After a group of jihadists (including some Gazans who entered Egypt via tunnels) slaughtered a bunch of Egyptians in 2014, the Egyptian government closed the border, fearing for their own safety. It’s still closed today. They literally sacrificed a huge chunk of their land for safety from Gazans.

The judiciary system in Iran has confirmed 74 lashes for Parastoo Ahmadi for the “crime” of singing.
She sang without compulsory hijab. She hurt no one. She simply used her voice.
Now she faces 74 lashes, a two-year travel ban, and a two-year ban from audiovisual activities.
This should not be only an Iranian women’s issue. Every singer, every artist, every woman, every man who believes in basic human dignity should stand with Parastoo.
Say her name. Share her story. Use your platform. 74 lashes for singing should outrage all of us.

Corporations have done more for communities than politicians ever have.
The goal here isn’t to put communities above corporations. Corporations are part of communities. They employ people, produce what people need, invest, and create wealth.
The goal is to put politicians above corporations, regardless of how much attacking the latter ultimately hurts the former.

Citi reported $5.37B in total income-tax expense, while its U.S. liability was reduced partly by credits for things Bernie himself supports like affordable housing, new-market investment and the inferior energy he demands.
They subsidize what he wants, then get attacked for taking the subsidies. There will never be enough, because the demand is always for more, or more accurately, for someone else to have less.
If you paid $1 in federal income taxes last year, you paid more than Citigroup after making $4 billion in profits, charging 32.74% interest on credit cards & slashing 20,000 jobs.
Trump said he'd cap credit card interest rates at 10% & his tax breaks would create jobs. He lied.

People say this because instead of understanding how things actually work, they impose unearned guilt to demand sacrificial offerings, with little regard for whether it makes the poor worse off.
Worse, some know it will. Their concern isn't loving the poor but virtue-signaling their hatred of the rich.
So the poor become props: regurgitate economic nonsense, punish success, damage prosperity, then call the resulting sacrifice compassion.
People aren’t going hungry because we cannot feed the poor. People are going hungry because we cannot satisfy the rich.

The difference between an entrepreneur and a politician is that an entrepreneur gets richer to the extent they make other people’s lives better. Sometimes not at all, sometimes a little, sometimes enormously, and at their own expense and risk.
A politician always gets richer while consistently and predictably making your life worse, at your expense.
It’s like being forced to fund your own misery, absent even the dignity of choice.
