Congrats. About that spectrum … Iridium has about 10 MHz of cellular usable spectrum vs SpaceX 70 MHz.

Congratulations! Rocket Lab will not be left behind. Seriously, you guys are the number two right now. Behind SpaceX (but who isn't), but ahead of Blue Origin and China.

Everyone's talking about "Rocket Lab vs SpaceX". But the real story is: a company that burns cash launching rockets just bought itself a money printer. In the article, it is mentioned that Iridium did $871.7M in revenue in 2025, $495M OEBITDA (57% margin), with 2.55M subscribers paying every month. That money rolls in whether or not a single launch succeeds. Until today, Rocket Lab was a bet on the future: launches, contracts, someday-profits. Iridium hands it a paycheck in the present. The rockets were always the dream; this is the engine that pays for it: recurring revenue, rare global spectrum, and a real margin to lean on. It's mostly Rocket Lab stock plus a $3.6B loan to pull off, and Iridium is steady, not hyper-growth. So they're swapping a slice of rocket-fuel upside for a stable annuity. Smart, if they can carry the cost.

“THOSE OF YOU WHO KNOW ME I AM WAY TO IMPATIENT FOR THAT” 🫡🚀
Enjoyed every bit of the 46% drop in $RKLB because nothing in the fundamentals changed. Not one bit. It only got stronger. While the price was getting cut nearly in half, the company joined the Nasdaq-100, effective June 22. It kept stacking wins under the selling, and today it announced an $8 billion deal to acquire $IRDM. The stock fell. The business got bigger. Every dip was a blessing. I kept deploying slowly through the mid fall and heavily at the bottom. The strategy I always follow is not hurting myself with falling knives, but catching them safely. We all prayed for a pullback, we got it, and what one does with it makes you a better investor in the long run. Short-term price action is for traders. For long-term investors, it doesn’t matter. I got in sub $20 and it looked expensive, right when I did? Today that price looks cheap. So think about it: in the next two years, or five, what will this price look like? Sir Peter Beck , called it a “landmark moment for Rocket Lab”. The bigger landmark is still ahead. If you change your perspective, you will level up in investing and become a better investor. All you need is time and you will outperform anyone. It’s not a sprint, it’s a marathon.

It will be interesting to see if someone else comes out of the woodwork to offer a higher price for Iridium.

I've used iridium radios in Iraq in 2010. They are awesome. 50km range for frequency hop via satellite 🤘 Best comms I ever heard "out of the box."

Won’t iridium be obsolete once Asts, starlink and Amazon Leo take the market, it’s like buying vhs when dvd is 2 years away…
