Flock's guidance on lobbying city councils makes one thing very clear: these cameras are tools for mass surveillance, and they know it.
This flawed, unsecure technology will never be used responsibly by law enforcement.

Guardrails are permissions.
Whether it’s Flock cameras, AI scale data centers or anything else, toothless guidelines developed only with the industries and departments exploting are not a win. They’re a way of diffusing protest and entrenching these inherently harmful…

Sheboygan council resolution to cancel its Flock contract says PD "was made aware of an email from Flock Safety’s account executive, dated March 24, 2026, offering to sell the Sheboygan Department of Public Works anonymized data for traffic volume, vehicle types and speed data"
"There's a lot of concerns when it comes to data management and sharing that data."
Sheboygan's mayor is accusing Flock of violating its contract with the city. All 15 cameras have been covered up as the council now prepares to vote to end its contract with the AI tech company

So, to be clear: Flock admitted that it repackages and sells private data *even when* there’s a data retention agreement in place with a law enforcement agency. And this has already happened, here.
It’s an untrustworthy, scammy company. That sells mass surveillance.
NEW: Racine County Sheriff Christopher Schmaling ordered the "immediate removal" of Flock cameras today.
Schmaling says had been collecting and sharing data beyond what the sheriff's office had agreed to:

Explain @NYPDPC, because this sure as hell looks like cooperation to us.
Video from Jackson Heights, Queens today appears to show NYPD enforcing a physical barrier between community response to ICE operating what witnesses described as a “checkpoint” wherein ICE (illegally?) blocked the street and detained a driver.
