UPDATE: The Adjutant General of South Carolina has lifted the administrative suspension for the eight pilots involved in the July 4th Salute From the Shores flyover. Getting these experienced aviators back to flight status ensures our peak operational readiness to support state and federal missions. The 59th Aviation Troop Command remains committed to excellence, Soldier safety, and the highest levels of professionalism. A huge thank you to our community and state leaders for the incredible outpouring of support!

Update: Salute from the Shore Flyover review: To clarify, the temporary flight suspension for our Apache pilots is a routine, non-punitive safety measure - not a disciplinary action. These Soldiers remain in good standing with the SCNG and continue daily duties on the ground. Safety is our top priority.

The 59th Troop Command marked a significant milestone as leadership passed from one dedicated commander to the next during a Change of Command ceremony at McEntire Joint National Guard Base. Col. Denton Smith relinquished command leaving behind a legacy of excellence, readiness, and commitment to Soldiers and mission. Lt. Col.
