No other religion of peace does this!
This is inside a synagogue, and the clip is a Purim celebration.
Purim marks the story in the Book of Esther.
Haman, a Persian court official, plots to xx the j; the plot fails, and he is hanged on the gallows he had built for Mordechai.
In some communities, especially certain Orthodox and Haredi ones, people act that out with a stuffed dummy of Haman: they hang it, sometimes “shoot” it with toy or cap guns, and sometimes burn it.
The custom is old. It is already described in medieval j sources going back to Geonic times in Babylonia, where young men made a figure of Haman, hung it, and later threw it on a bonfire.
It is folk theater tied to the holiday, not a required part of the service, and many synagogues never do it.
