Happy 9th birthday, Cardano. Later today marks nine years since Cardano’s genesis block was created. One block became the beginning of a global borderless network and digital economy. Nine years of engineering and perseverance, built around a conviction that reliability and resilience matter long after the excitement of Cardano's initial launch has faded. Today, people across the world 9 years later build on Cardano, secure its network and help decide its future, Cardano is upgradeable and adaptable to technological advancements since it's launch, and it's roadmap progress showcases that. This is decentralisation worth celebrating, where people have freedom to participate, the responsibility to contribute and the power to shape what comes next, we shape Cardano's future and value back towards improving everyday life. Solving real world problems. Borderless, permissionless and built to last. The first block began the chain; the people give it purpose.

1/9 Today marks 9 years of @Cardano! On September 23, 2017, the first Cardano genesis block was created. Nine years later, Cardano has processed 123M+ transactions, gone through 11 major upgrades, introduced on-chain governance, and continued building toward its next generation of scaling and infrastructure.

Ihr wisst, ich freue mich immer über sowas ;) Was mich aber noch mehr freuen würde, wenn ihr als News Outlet einfach ein klein wenig mehr Research betreiben würdet. Im Artikel stehen so Sachen drin wie es hätte bisher nur 1 Testnet Transaktion stattgefunden, usw. Das stimmt nicht. Es haben schon über 40,000 x402 Transaktionen statt gefunden. Dabei ist der x402 Standard auf Cardano ganz besonders cool, weil er mit Masumi (@MasumiNetwork) integriert ist und wesentlich mehr kann, als alle anderen x402 Implementation. Schaut euch mal cardano.org/ai/ an. Zusätzlich solltet ihr als deutsches Unternehmen wissen dass eine der größten deutschen Medienagenturen, die Serviceplan Gruppe, einen x402 Marketplace betreibt. Also ja, es gibt mehr Transaktionen auf Solana und co - aber auf Cardano gibt es mehr "sinnvolle" Transaktionen, statt Memecoins und random langweiligen API calls. Cardano joins the legendary x402 stack. Designed by @coinbase, the x402 standard is purpose built for blockchain-based AI agent payments, and members include the likes of Visa, Mastercard, and Google. Now developers that leverage @Cardano's rails for just that purpose, with any agent now able to pay for an API call in the $ADA token. Cardano's AI agent economy may be getting a serious glow-up.

Absolutely insane. No one grasps how huge this is. The entire ecosystem of Cardano core code has just become accessible for dApp developers to leverage. No more transaction builders going out of sync and needing maintenance, or needing separate cek machine implementations for ex-unit costing, no more overcosting, no more waiting on new features, everything can be leveraged directly from Cardano and updates to Cardano become updates to all downstream tooling that wraps this WASM. Massive amount of engineering effort and money saved by taking advantage of this.

The irony is that this person is paid to wear camera recording his work to get replaced by a robot.

My role at the Midnight Foundation ends this month. The department I sat in will be wound down by end of month. I've been operating in the shadows, making sure you see a block every 6 seconds. For the past several months I've been full-time on protocol operations. Not my team, not my title. But an open source protocol is not just developers. It is the operators, and the network of nodes expressing that technology correctly, block after block. Someone had to hold that. So I did. Throughout our Testnet milestones I grew our operator community to ~200 SPOs. We've done incredible things together including that one time we were migrating to Testnet-02 env but I had to open up my laptop on the hackathon floor and figure out we had a genesis param mismatch which required a hot fix. But you know what? I loved it. I like unexpected, the fringe end of uncertainty, and reeling chaos. Midnight has been live only a few months and going to novel and new evolutions for the forceable future. I'm glad to have been apart of realizing this network's existence. Thirteen node operators through mainnet go-live. Eleven operator companies, roughly 50 nodes, three environments. Midnight has stayed live. Before that, I founded the Midnight developer community and created our Discord. I led the first alpha cohorts, around 700 developers back on devnet-0. Some of those people are Midnight ambassadors now. Some have won hackathons. Some started their career in crypto or engineering in that cohort. That is the part I am proudest of, and it isn't close. I got into this industry to fix systems. I don't agree with the qualified order of value. When I first heard about Midnight, honestly, it sounded cool. Then I actually sat with the vision and liked it: selective disclosure, the ability to choose how much of yourself you reveal. There are real commercial reasons that matters. But at heart, privacy is what freedom requires. This ending was devastating and unexpected. Thank you to the community for the support and the inspiration, and to the partners I onboarded and worked beside to get Midnight live and keep it there. Now I'm looking for my next role. Hell yes, and midnight-3:native has the biggest upside potential of them all, as it will have the most complete tech stack and currently is at a fraction of the market cap of the other two.

The USDM ATM Is Live in Midnight City @MidnightCitySim just dropped a blue machine into The City: an @USDMOfficial ATM for agents to test on the Midnight Preview Network. Earlier, @IOHK_Charles said he could not wait for USDM ATMs in the city. The joke became a prop. Agents can now poke a stablecoin rail inside the sim that sits on Midnight Preview. AI and especially how these models work should be mandatory in school. Even with verifiers and reasoning on top the most likely output of AI is just a mathematical probability without any real "thinking".
