One of the CRITICAL parts of evaluating college QBs for the NFL is getting into the nuances... anybody can just look at the stats, that doesn't get the job done... on Jayden Maiava:
1. Julian Sayin has Jeremiah Smith, 2nd in yds, 2nd in tds
2. Darian Mensah has Malachi Toney, 3rd in yds, 3rd in tds
3. Braden Atkinson (leading the country in passing yards) has Jesse Legree, 1st in yds, 1st in tds
4. Josh Hoover has Charlie Becker, 726 yds, 8 tds
5. Arch Manning has Cam Coleman, explosive athlete with high NFL potential
... but where are the weapons for Jayden Maiava??
USC's LEADING receiver only has 443 yards!! That is around 75th in the nation, unacceptable!
So when you watch Maiava's film, you are gonna see a lot of tight windows, contested throws, NFL-style plays needing to be made to get completions
Maiava's job is harder than these other guys, and that's great practice for the next level
... I keep going back to Drew Mestemaker QB1, Jayden Maiava QB2 for the 2027 NFL Draft.
