The notification allotting ACP Vivek Bhagat the charge of Additional DCP has reportedly been withheld until the investigation is completed.
Now, please register the FIR first and then resume the investigation.
The victim has been waiting for action. The next step should be clear.
Delhi ACP Vivek Bhagat who is allegedly accused of molesting women journalist has been promoted to Additional DCP.
In India, you get promoted if accused of crime. You get welcomed with garland.
Delhi police refused to register FIR and now this. Kya hi chal raha hai! Shame!

The government is planning on arresting me, Abhijeet, Ashutosh, Ratna and other Cockroach Janta Party leaders.
If the government thinks that such dictatorial actions will work, then they are mistakened! The young generation has awakened. We appeal to everyone to continue fighting for our rights and future, with or without us. We have always been ready to face the jail or worse. But this will be a big mistake. The young will not tolerate this.
The protests must continue. People of India should ensure the biggest mobilisation starting October 10th.

Note that not registering an FIR in cases of sexual assault is also an offence under Section 199 BNS!
On 03-10-26, during the protest in New Delhi area, while being in law and order situation, allegations of sexual harassment were made by three female journalists against police officers.
New Delhi District has received their complaints and the same are transferred to Crime Branch for fair and impartial enquiry.

Encounters, death sentence or life imprisonment will NOT prevent or deter the next rape or sexual abuse.
As a society we are inhuman and violent. Our legal system from the police station
onwards is broken.
More freedom and equality for women AND everyone is the only way forward.
Support young people to Love regardless of religion, caste, gender etc.
Segregation and casteism have entrenched discrimination and inequality.
The politics of bulldozer, state permission for inter faith marriage, rejection of self- determination of gender identity, are responsible for breeding this violence.
A state that amplifies toxic masculinity, uses brute force to silence differences, targets citizens based on religion or ethnicity, will embolden violence.
We are in deep trouble, celebrating our past civilisation will not save us.
There are no shortcuts. Forget reaching Mars, women and girls can’t take a stroll in the park.

The debate around Newslaundry ethics is a reminder to all of us to remain humble. The problem begins precisely when you think you’re so much better than others that you can start being preacher & pulpit, doing long pieces on other newsrooms, based on exactly the sort of testimonies ( often unnamed) that are now challenging you. Anyone with a god complex will invariably be cut to size. This has literally nothing to do with media wars, or BJP vs Opposition. It’s the oldest proverb we learnt in nursery - those who live in glass houses should not throw stones at others. Yes, we are all imperfect, flawed, works in progress, making mistakes and trying to find our way through a changing world. Remaining grounded in that humility will go a long way. Nobody likes arrogance or humbug. Just my two bits. Sabki Dhulai se pehle apni bhi dhulai. Or recognise your obvious conflict of interest and likely doublespeak in commenting on others
