This is just more lip service from Shapiro.
As AG and as governor he’s failed on all four of the things he claims he’s delivering.
Schools are getting worse. PSSA and Keystone scores are still way below 2019 levels—Algebra around 44% proficient, middle-school math often stuck in the 30s. He keeps throwing more money at it and the outcomes for our kids keep getting worse.
Safe communities? He was AG through the COVID years when violent crime and homicides surged, especially in Philadelphia. Then as governor he pushed probation and Clean Slate reforms that reduced consequences for some offenders. The post-2020 spike happened on his watch as the state’s top law-enforcement officer.
Opportunity to work and fundamental freedoms? As AG he enforced the mandates that kept non-essential employees from working and shut mom-and-pop stores while big-box stores stayed open. Same time he was posting from a June 2020 BLM march in Harrisburg, his office was defending the Wolf administration’s orders that heavily restricted other gatherings—including church services. Large protests got a pass. Churches got capacity limits, pressure to go virtual, and discouragement of in-person worship even outdoors. Selective enforcement. Pennsylvanians still resent it.
This is who he is. Pennsylvanians will not forget.
Regardless of where you live, what kind of job you have, or what political party you support — most Pennsylvanians want the same four basic things:
1. Good schools for their kids.
2. Safe communities to live in.
3. The opportunity to work a good-paying job that supports their family.
4. Their fundamental freedoms protected.
Getting stuff done might not always be easy, but no matter what challenges we face, I’m focused on those four things — and we’re delivering on all of them here in Pennsylvania.
