After midnight this morning, Douglas County Department of Corrections (DCDC) informed law enforcement that Jose Ortega-Romero would be bonding out and they would be releasing him. @DCSheriffNE (DCSO) had previously announced that there was an ICE detainer placed. DCDC did not honor the 48-hour detainer. Jose Ortega-Romero was picked up by law enforcement upon being released and is now housed at Sarpy County Corrections. He was booked there at 1:55 a.m. this morning. Note: DCSO does not staff nor oversee DCDC.
