I’m far past the point of being “done” with these people…

I feel like this needs to be said because there is so much tension and division. It feels like every conversation is ready to become an argument. People are frustrated. Concerns are met with labels instead of answers, and people are pushed out. That will not rebuild trust. We must ask where public money goes, and expect officials to explain their decisions. Public service is a responsibility, not a favour. Science develops through questioning. Law develops through challenge. Democracy develops through disagreement. Instead of discouraging conversations or referendums, let’s encourage them. A strong democracy needs informed citizens who can disagree and still be heard. Progress actually comes from questioning the status quo.

Effect on the midterms? Pretty small, honestly. Both sides will just use it to back up what they already believe. Democrats get to point to it as validation. Republicans will hit back with their own counter-story about Canada, China, or Democratic staffers being behind it. Either way, it's not going to flip any seats. What actually decides these races — prices, Trump, and the individual district fights — matters way more than any of this, however the failure for the "democratic staffer" not getting any mention is an obvious ploy by both parties to hide an important fact. @SaskLass
