I have been saying this for years, then I was told most soldiers don't vote because they don't want politics to effect there chance to move up in ranks or to get the base they would most likely to be stationed next. I hope that's changing and thanks Pete for seeing it important!

People just like to whine and complain. It’s the law to allow your troops to vote but there’s no initiative. “You vote on your own time”, so basically when you get off work. If you don’t have time, well, tough luck. Now, commanders are going to ensure that everyone votes by literally ordering your place of duty at the polling station.
