CBC just ran another taxpayer-funded activist video and called it news Olivia Stefanovich’s piece on Bill C-39 is the same script they’ve used for a decade: open with pristine landscapes, cut to “experts warn” from Sierra Club, David Suzuki Foundation and WWF, declare that speeding up approvals equals “fast-track extinction,” then toss the government a two-sentence denial and one lonely quote from Heather Exner-Pirot so they can pretend they did balance That’s not journalism. That’s a press release with better lighting and visuals These groups exist to stop projects. Their job is delay, litigation, and moral panic over caribou, orcas and salmon every time someone tries to build a pipeline, port or transmission line. CBC treats them as neutral scientists and treats anyone who wants Canada to actually construct things as a threat to “survivability.” The bill shortens review clocks, consolidates permits, and makes last year’s national-interest powers permanent. You can argue those changes are too broad. You cannot pretend they are an extinction event while Canada’s permitting process has already cost the country years and billions. I do not understand why, given this information, that any Albertan would vote to continue this unfair, discriminatory and inequitable practise. Canada completely ignored our referendum on the equalization program. It will not ignore a majority vote for an independent Alberta.

Mark Carney: “Never say never, but it starts from a position of, we need to be a reliable supplier in all cases.” Given Carney’s proclivity for double-speak, what happens if Option One wins on October 19? How long until Alberta oil is used as a bargaining chip?
